Yeah, Anderson did the same on his second ball but got it away for four. Not too bothered about him doing that as you don't expect much, but Leach is at least capable of hanging around for a while and letting the other batsman score.

He'd probably get dropped if he tried playing himself in.

 

Makes for interesting cricket this approach, but the seeming necessity for it to always be at 100% is a bit stupid. Overall though, it's the right approach for England as we don't really produce any proper test batsmen. 

 

We're going to look a bit dim if they get 500 here though.
