If they could get Giroud and they put Sigurdsson behind him, I think that would be very complimentary and along with Sandro and Rooney, that would replace Lukaku adequately, Imo. But if they can't get another good striker, I don't think what they have currently is enough.

So that's the Lukaku money, the soon to be Barkley money and their Chinese overdraft dosh, where is Moshi's ? Oh that's right he doesn't use his own. Fart Smella.

And the Cleverly and Delefeou money to add to the pot

There are stupid deals and there are stupid deals.

What I mean is that there are some deal that are bad deals but you can understand why the people making the decision made it.  Like Robbie Keane, or even, being generous, Aquilani.

Then there are those deals which are hopeless, completely inexplicable, and never had a chance of succeeding.  Your Andy Carroll or Charlie Adam deals, that sort of thing.

£50m for a player about to turn 29 years old, who is a good free kick taker but other than that is pretty much bang average, is absolutely the latter.  It might even be dumber than the whole Carroll thing.  Utterly, utterly clueless.  He'll be OK for a year, then below average the next, then they'll be looking all over Europe for someone to give them £5m when he's 31-32 or just take on his wages.

That is the problem with employing a short term manager like Koeman and giving him free reign in the transfer market. He couldn't give a fuck what Everton finances are like in 2020.

A stronger Everton can only be good for us. All this time they've been shit, we've been largely shit too.

Eh? The situations aren't linked; if they were the best team in the world (I know, I know, just go with it for a second...) that doesn't mean we'd be the 2nd best team in the world. Two different sets of circumstances, bad decisions, and general incompetence.

Swansea warn Everton over Sigurdsson and raise question of tapping up
• Swansea insist they will not be bullied into dropping £50m asking price
• Welsh club say any Everton agreement with player would be illegal

Swansea City have questioned whether Everton have tapped up Gylfi Sigurdsson and warned they will not be bullied into dropping their £50m asking price for the Iceland international.

Sigurdsson stunned Swansea officials and coaching staff on Thursday when he pulled out of the club’s pre-season trip to the United States shortly before the flight to Philadelphia. The 27-year-old was apparently “not in the right frame of mind” amid continued interest from Everton, who want the midfielder as part of their summer spending spree.

No it doesn't but I think them doing well would spur us on.

Nah.

There were a few years in the mid Sixties and again in the mid Eighties when both teams were strong; other than that, there's been no correlation in our successes or failures.

I can't see Jurgen Klopp ever giving the team talk "Everton are really shite, so it's OK to phone it in, lads."

Had to laugh at this post on GOT. Took all my mental strength not to reply and blow my cover!

Since Liverpool and Arsenal last won the Premier League, Wayne Rooney has left Everton Football Club, won 16 trophies, become Manchester United's all-time top goalscorer, and returned to Everton.

Since Everton Last Won A Trophy

F.A. Cup 20 May 1995

Since Everton Last Won A Trophy...

They have spent £314,945,500.00 - More than any other team in the world without winning anything.

They have signed 149 new players.

Players that have left for other clubs have won a combined 83 trophies.

Blackburn, Middlesbrough, Portsmouth, Birmingham, Swansea and Wigan have all won domesic trophies.

Their biggest rivals Liverpool have won 11 trophies, including UEFA Champions League, The UEFA Cup, The Super Cup twice, The F.A. Cup twice and The League Cup three times.

A generation of Everton fans have never seen them lift a trophy.

Everton’s last win at Anfield was in September 1999, so there’s a good chance no one under the age of 25 would even remember it.

I do not visit that site but I'd imagine it's getting harder to spot the reds piss taking from the bitters spouting shite. That actually looks more like a red on the wind up, nobody else could post that seriously.
