Were the people now having a go at Rafa, vocal in their condemnation of Allardyce for his vitriolic attack?

No.

Well there's a fucking surprise.

Not King Emlyn though, while I don't agree with him on the manager, he's the least antagonistic in getting his points across, and at least conveys some willingness to see the manager turn it round.

I'm in two minds about this; Allardyce is a cunt and deserves what he gets, but it just feels hollow to me considering the way we're playing.

If we'd played like we did against them at Anfield last season and won 4-0, then that would have been a great opportunity to stick the boot in.

I couldn't give a fuck what Allerdyce says, does or thinks about anything. Him and Blackburn are of no interest to me whatsoever. The only thing that registered with me is that i watched a Liverpool team basically play with 8 defenders in the last 30 mins and constantly hoofing the ball against one of the worst teams in the league and our manager is then making comments about the opposition being like Brca.

Typical of the appaling soap opera way that modern football is covered in this country.

It is "too popular" which means that some people pretend to like it in order to fit in.

As they don't actually enjoy the game, they have to be pandered to with discussions of anything else rather than the actual sport.

Complete storm in a teacup has been whipped up between them.

So what if they don't like eachother?

This is at a time when the biggest clubs in the country are wallowing in debt.

Sky would never dream of addressing those issues: they cant even be bothered to employ a summariser who has actually attempted to understand why teams zonal-mark & then compare the pros & cons of both systems.

Far better to concentrate on some idiotic "feud" such as 'Rafa vs Fat Sam' or something else which has absolutely no impact on either of the club's fortunes but which can be understood by the simpletons they are attempting to attract.

I just can't wait for this season to end, it's been a total car crash. Hopefully there will be major changes in the summer and we can then rebuild from scratch.

It's a bit of a depressing thought but also exciting I suppose. I just want to be proud of my team again and enjoy watching them play football.

In fairness, Sky Sports News always has people from the financial sector discussing the debt issue in football. I always stick it on when i'm off work during the week and that kind of thing features a lot.

That is a good point but the coverage on the main channels is real lowest common denominator stuff.

They don't do that for rugby, cricket or the NFL but do for football & it pisses me off.

This is what i was alluding to earlier; i think Rafa is a bit poo at working the press, the cringeometer tends to rise a notch or two whenever he goes on the attack.

That's what happens when you haven't got the media bending over backwards to take one up the drain pipe every time you open your mouth..

Even when he has been funny it's spun the next day to make him look like some sort of loon..

Good one Rafa for having a pop at the cunt. I wish Rafa had made a comment about maybe Fat Sam can speak to Cappelo and advise him on how to play games in the World Cup... That would really have hurt the cunt.

It's cos footy is more popular and that's what the masses want. Plus, they are covering matches there so they're gonna talk about what happens in the game. I never watch all that anayway. If i watch one of our games at home i never, ever watch the punditry. Why do you need someone to tell you what happened when you've just been watching it?

I dont think it's that much more in depth for other games though. I just think some sports are more rule-laden, intricate and stop-start, NFL i particular, so they lend themselves to that kind of analysis.

If we're 1-2 down to Birmingham at home i suspect they'll talk about why we're so shit rather than our net spend compared to Arsenal.

He's rarely funny. In fact he's beginning to sound like the sarcastic priest in Father Ted.

How ace would it be if he just said "shut up you fatheaded meff".

The stuff we aim at Neville etc was always gutter level, but the proviso was simple; "don't waste anything good on the cunts" and Allardyce falls firmly into that category.

He looked the whining whipped cur that he is after the 4-0 last season and the 3-0 at Newcastle, where he was totally taken apart tactically.

Maybe there's a clue?

Neither of you are to blame for anything. Looking back at this thread I can't wait for this season to be over. It's been shit for everyone, and whatever happens I'm hoping we can perhps get back to better times on the FF next season.

I think it's gone to far now. We have two camps.. Rafa stays, Rafa goes... Whenever we win, the "Stays" will go into overdrive, when we lose or play badly, the "Go's" will go into meltdown..

I hope that isn't the case, but like I said... we have two camps now...

Also, we have an unwritten rule at Anfield that we don't sing about the Mancs, the Blues etc when we're not playing against them because it's small-time, but it's okay for our manager to say things like this?

I'm just playing devils advocate!

The coverage of the little spat soon acquired a surreal quality. Last night on MOTD2, Adrian Chiles claimed Benitez's comments were 'bizarre' because he didn't take the bait. What was bizarre about them? It was patently obvious what he was doing and why. And Allardyce was allowed to repeat his absurd claim that 'Liverpool' is/are always talking about him, without one journalist pointing out (in a polite manner) that he was talking paranoid rubbish. As for the Barcelona jibe, well, I'd be more worried if Benitez had chosen Sunderland. At least it suggests he still recognises a good footballing team, even if it isn't his own!

I think you're right, it's clear that a lot of people have made their minds up either way. I don't think there's anything wrong with that, as long as you give the reasons why you've made up your mind and are open to changing as and when events change.

I've been openly critical of Rafa for a number of years now and everyone knows he isn't my cup of tea but in the summer I said he deserved a new contract after the way we'd finished the season.

Hit back when we've won the league, not when we are just about fighting for fourth.

You've got it all wrong, as usual. You fight when the fight is on. If you win the league you win the league with grace, if you end up 2nd or 7th, you do it with grace. During the fight you take care of your own and yourself. Rafa's doing just that, many here just the opposite.

Allardyce claimed we got several yellow cards against Manchester City because we played like one of his teams. He claimed that HIS team got so many yellow cards against us because 'the fans swayed decisions'. He is so incapable of working out a consistent and logical argument he should donate his brain to specialists so they can have a kickabout during breaks from studying real brains.

Rafa didnt at any point claim we played awesome football though did he? He responded to Fat Sams dig at our football with a " yeah and youre football is so awesome Barca want to copy it" type comment. Which is entirely fair if you ask me. Personally id rather he hit the fat cunt a kick in the balls but that wasnt going to happen. Quite liked Rafas reply to him though.

Allardyce is a massive whale headed walrus cunt.

I agree we have not been playing the attractive football we finished last season with and watching us currently isn't a very enjoyable experience, but to me that's got fuck all to do with Rafa's comments.

Fat Sam made comments in the week about our foul count at City, he made his hilarious choreographed pathetic comments last season about the hand gesture with his master Lord Taggart, and has consistently aimed snide digs at Rafa and Liverpool over the past few years.

Yesterday, although they started well, they soon reverted to the old Allardyce tried and trusted game plan. They went route 1 at any opportunity, and their plan of attack consisted of Paul Robinson hoofing it as high in to the sky as possible to ensure Blackburn could get enough yard dogs underneath it when it eventually fell from orbit.

They consistently put in shithouse snide tackles breaking up anything we tried to do, they went in late, they left their foot in, they elbowed and pushed.

Rafa was right, their brand of football is worthy of ridicule and is no where near comparible to the way we currently play. Allardyce is a shithouse clogging fat cunt and has destroyed Blackburn to the point where only about 500 of them bothered to make the 40minute trip down the road to watch his awful team. I used to like Balckburn and have a cracking day out their every year at the away when we usually take 7000 up. But I'd happily see them plummet while that Fat Cunt is in charge.

Well in Rafa
