In signing Warnock kenny will do some good business for a number of reasons if we make a move for A Young it will help him settle in the club quicker with someone he knows very well knowing all about the club

He will have cover at Left back for Aurelio who's record with injuries isnt the best and allow for Konchelsky to be moved on if needed plus he gets stuck in which is something we have lacked since Masch went the same applies to the Van Bommel interest another tough tackler

Not really getting all this anti Downing stuff, I actually think he's a good player, someone who will give us natural width which is what we've all been moaning about, decent pace & good delivery. I hope we get him. We all moan about our lack of width & there's a couple of posts on here stating they'd actually prefer Maxi over Downing, what width does he offer then? Does he offer pace? Has he got good delivery? Is he any good? The answer to all of them is No, so Downing would, undoubtedly, be an improvement. Also IMO Young is quality and would be a massive success here. I really want us to get Suarez, but I would be willing to sacrifice him to get Young in,to get the pair of them would be unreal.

It's a fair shout that. I personally can't see what Maxi offers, he misses chance after chance, as you say offers no width and is well past his prime. Add to that the dutch speed demon on the other wing with a touch like Peter Sutcliffe and I wonder why we're so shite.

 

Oh sorry I forgot our back 4, which is second only to West Ham's for utterly hurrendous performances and the fact Torres and Gerrard are the only two players only ever expected to play up to Liverpool standard.
