Torres needs better support up front. Against quality opposition at times last season when Gerrard was man marked out of the game and his influence stifled, Torres was too isolated and lacked support. We need other quality players to share the burden.

We need more quantity not quality to supply Torres next year. Some decent squad fillers will make him more dangerous, as the opposition defenses will worry about the potential impact from the bench which will take their minds of Torres.

Ronaldo had a phenomenal season in 2006/07, the first in which he played to his full potential, and had an outstanding goal return. A lot of people were wondering whether he could reproduce the same form the following season, but in the end he went on to better it. No reason why Torres can't do the same.

I agree in we need more of a goal threat from elsewhere but Gerrard will still score as and i think Babel will make the step up and score a few as well but it would help if our defenders were to score more as well.

my pragmatic side worries that he won't score as many next season, that's why we need other players to step up and score more so teams can't just mark him out of the game.

David Villa... The post you are referring to meant Torres plays up front on his own for us, changes to playing with a strike partner at the Euros (That number 7) then back to playing up front on his own with us again next season.
