Wikipedia: Bišćan joined Greek side Panathinaikos in July 2005 after he was released by Liverpool. He left Panathinaikos after two years and signed a three and a half year contract with Dinamo Zagreb on December 3, 2007. He is now captain of the club following the departure of Luka Modrić to Tottenham Hotspur.

He has so far made 14 appearances for his new club, and has scored six goals, despite playing in defensive midfield.

Just what we need, a goal scoring midfielder. He's on fire at the moment.

You cunthawk Newport, I was about to start a thread about the greatness of Igor Biscan. Just been watching the Fulham 4 - 2 game on the Liverpool channel and his reaction after the goal was sheerly sublime. A kind of unassuming, bumbling, schoolboy smiling fit mixed with utter shock and confusion of what to do after actually scoring a goal.

Also, Deportivo in 05 was my first Euro away game and he was fucking immense, quite possibly won the game for us that day. In fact I'd have Igor back in our squad now, even if he never actually contributed to the first 11 in any meaningful way, just because of the enjoyment I got out of his mere presence. Hero.

He was superb sgainst Deportivo. I dont think anyone has a bad word to say about him really. There was actually a half decent player there somewhere. He just needed a good kick up the arse or a gram of speed or something to get him going.

As captain of Zagreb he is doing well for himself. Made up for him. Not good enough for us though I am afraid.

Igor was a legend, I remember when we won the domestic treble, I went to the parade and went to the ground the get a glimpse of the players, they all had the usual 4x4's not Igor he handbraked it into Anfield Road in a suped up BMW M3 with some sort of death metal on in his car I pissed myself.

He is a legend for that, also for bringing Fat Sam close to tears when he scored that header... lets not forget the goal against Fulham, I jumped up and laughed at the same time, finally his performance against Deportivo away in 2005, he was superb.

heres a little tribute to the great man (masterclass headerer of the ball)

EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEGOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOORRRRRRRRRRRR !!!!!

I think Houllier broke him. Shame he never went somewhere where he could play regularly and in his preferred role. I recall shaking my head in disbelief when he once played as a left winger.

Right winger wasn't it, came on as sub against City at home in Ged's last season, and the whole ground booed (Houllier and the negative substitution, more than him) - felt well sorry for Igor that day.

No, was definitely left. Cup final against Brum too.
