A wholly depressing Saturday of sporting action.

Nobody is gonna do us a favour. Nobody.

The refs, well we've got to beat them too, cheating fuckers.

We've got 8 games left and I confidently predict that we'll need to come from behind in all 8. We'll have perfectly good goals VAR'd out, players sent off and suspended for fuck all, and we'll have to surmount more unexpected injuries to key players at key moments, forcing Jürgen to play even more of the kids whilst he himself watches from the stands following a 3 game ban for "erroneous sming and fist-pump actions".

Piss of piss really.

Absolutely nothing has changed for me. I expected city and arsenal to win. Big deal. They'll all be wanking each other off. And then we can go and do our business and they'll realise they're still back in the same place. We just need to win our games, fuck the rest of them.

I absolutely fucking hate Man Utd. Just get these beat Reds.

I’d look at Gomez at right back with Robbo starting this one. As well as Bradley has done he’s looked knackered for a while now, and he was shite at Old Trafford in the cup. Endo, Macca and Szoboszlai start in midfield with Curtis coming on after an hour.

Endo, Macca and Jones for me.

I assumed we’d bury them afterwards, but hey-ho…

RIP Ten hag. Ratcliffe has been arrested after saying that he had to show Ten Hag what being head and shoulders above the the rest meant when he failed to grasp the concept.

The way they are playing right now, they try to turn games into pure finishing contests. They press high and send loads of players forward but also allow loads of space between the lines because they mostly don't commit the defenders.

That's why everyone is having at least 20 shots against them but they don't really allow the types of chances us and City do. Which is those quick, dangerous counters where teams can sometimes beat the high line and send players in behind.

It's a weird way to play that isn't working, but you can also see how they get these ridiculous good results sometimes.

Having said all that, we should simply beat them and that's that.

Defend the ball played behind us into space well (cut it fucking out at source would be even better) and I am confident we will create enough to get the job done.

I wouldn't be too upset to see us just be a little more cautious than usual frankly and maybe even lure them onto us if possible a little as opposed to being camped in their half and them launching the aforementioned ball over top for Rashford to get after.

Absolutely this. We need to be a bit more pragmatic. Press, yes, but from a slightly deeper starting point. Hit the spaces they will leave as they're a bit higher than they'd like. As Dave didn't say on the pod, Nunez hat-trick.

I wouldn't mind us just tucking in for the first 20 and play as if we're defending a couple of goal lead with 10 mins to go. But I've never seen any evidence that klopp will send them out to do anything but front foot football.

This season he's sent them out most weeks playing hungover Sunday league football.

Yeah we play how we play - someone mentioned earlier about forwards giving ball away and i do feel we are guilty of this sometimes when we are trying too hard and then as we are pushed up they cause us a problem with the ball lashed forward for runners.

We play high risk and reward football.

Thing is if we get it right tomorrow they can't live with us, there is a 22 point gap between the sides, a chasm - but styles make fights and the one punch they do have happens to be the one we are most vulnerable to. So we need to stop them landing it and if we do we'll win.

The reality is we should beat them and we need to. After today I think if we get a win there especially a big win it’s a dagger through the hearts. How many times have we been chasing City and thought they could slip up here and they cruise it.

Just fucking win Liverpool

And Celtic if you’re feeling generous oh holy one

That would be the team who have already won one trophy, are in the Quarter Final of a European trophy and topped the league after 30 games.

I don't know where you are, but your local Sunday leagues must be a damn sight better than the ones round here.
