Personally I think he (and very much like Elliot) do their best work when we have teams really penned in and we're looking for a goal. When, like that first half, we're just looking to control the ball and wait for our moment, I think they just drop a level and switch off mentally.

As i said earlier, we're trying to dominate like City. We haven't the players they have, or system, that works like that.

We need to drop off little and hit them with space they leave.

Gakpo doesn’t seem to have many fans on here which is unusual. Even Voronin had his supporters.

Midfield has been too slow and safe for me. I'd get Szoboszlai on for some energy and risk taking. The front 3 haven't been great but they're barely getting the ball.

 

Bradley hasn't been his sharpest so I'd probably take him off and move Gomez to the right with Macca at 6.

Gakpo was bought for a relatively not expensive fee as a 5th attacker/player we can move around the pitch. He was never this superstar. 

 

The expectations people have are weird sometimes. He's been invloved in 15 goals this season, it's perfectly fine.

I like him, surely not the only one either. I think he's going through a bad patch, we've been patient with Nunez though and I think it'll be fine with Gakpo too if he keeps getting enough playing time.

I think some of us just don't know what he does. Voronin ran around a lot and was quite physical. With Gakpo he can finish and .... I struggle a bit after that. Not that scoring goals isn't a contribution.

He just doesn’t have that dash of utter bastard which separates the good from the very good.

 

I like him, but he’s not pulling up any trees and looks like he’s accepting being the backup, which if he had a touch of the bastards he wouldn’t.

I think because we've been hit with injuries we expected/hoped one of the senior forwards would step up and take their chance. He looks lost. Just disappointing.
