  1. 1. Should we sign him?

We just don’t have time to wait for him to mature. I’m not sure he will ever be consistent- he will undoubtedly have purple patches but we need more than that and I’m sure we expected more than that for him.

it hasn’t worked out that way- he would benefit from a move

People say he's young, learning, needs to mature. But he's 25 in the summer. He isn’t a kid,Torres joined us at 23,Suarez at 24. He doesn't look like he has it upstairs to step up like we need. Even Cavani had been scoring regularly for Palermo and got his Napoli move at 23.

I was fooled by his purple patch earlier this autumn, and Dave U's weekly talk about him as "electric" and "most exciting player in the league".

Thing is, the guy plays with his head down, is fairly limited technically and is by no means lethal enough.

He is fast and strong, but I don't think it will be enough.

Will have to turn it around very fast, or he will end up like Carroll: a ponytailed sub soon to be sent out on numerous loan deals.

Don't remember him doing a single thing other than the elbow charge

I put him into a bet builder to be offside twice or more and he managed at least double that.

Also reckon he had our best chance of the match with the back post header first half that he chose to pass.

Loved the hatrick today from Mo and the brace from Diaz and Gakpo and, blah blah. Nunez was shite today and hasn’t played well for a while, but neither has the whole team bar Ali and Virgil. There’s been the odd other good appearance from one or two over the last month, but really, everyone has been shit.

I’m actually more concerned with his inability to contribute to our attacking play MORE than his inability to finish, which takes some doing.

I'm no big fan of his, but that's not entirely his doing. Our way of attacking, in the main, is very fucking slow. We don't seem to have any intention of taking advantage of opportunities to break. The slightly aimless slow passing couldn't possibly suit Nunez any less.

We simply have to start Gakpo, or change how we play. As others have said Nunez looks far more useful as a sub where he has more chance to run at tired defences when the game opens up a bit.

He isn't doing us any favours and vice versa.

Nunez hasn't scored since Jesus was a twinkle in Joseph's eyes.

And as a team we’ve been needing a twinkle since then too. Fortunately we’ve not been losing and have ridden our luck to grind out wins. I reckon we have a pretty good team and squad that can evolve into a great one. Hopefully Nunez included.

The team is in transition but I simply cannot fathom how people still think Nunez will come good. He's been here a year and half now, he's not improved in the slightest.
