Obviously there is more variety and a broader selection of bands from the USA. But there is no one of the calibre of Beatles, Zeppelin, Stones, Who or Pink Floyd. 

 

One problem will be a lot of the music was done by session musicians - look at all the Motown stuff. Amazing groundbreaking music but largely uncredited musicians. And the Beach Boys have been mentioned - Pet Sounds was recorded by the Wrecking Crew so do the Beach Boys even count?

 

The US are really strong with solo artists too. 

 

Anyway, it'll be interesting to see who The E Street Band beats in the final.

Nah, he’s got to draw the line somewhere and make a decision. You’re never going to please everyone. Just because you might get two or three people on here who like a niche band (not specifically referring to those you’ve mentioned) doesn’t mean they should be in it. 
 

People might not specifically mention Bon Jovi or someone but they obviously should be in it as they’re a massive band. 2/3rds of people who vote in these things probably haven’t even expressed an opinion either, and they’re unlikely to vote or engage with it if it’s just full of the kind of shite you like. No offence. 
 

I can understand not having groups like the temptations or the drifters or whoever as well as they are mainly vocalists and not musicians and even though I put the Beasie boys down myself the hip hop bands are probably another decent tournament in their own right.
