It's a philosophy thing in a sense.

 

Sometimes national efforts are required. The second world war for example, Britain basically became a communist economy.

 

Land girls, railings requisitioned, volunteer wardens, mass production of munitions, tanks and aircraft all coordinated by government ministries, food distribution.

 

For some reason these imbeciles with their childlike understanding of the free market left this kind of crucial stuff this time around to "the free market".

 

Put a tender out with some filthy lucre attached and watch the innovation come flooding in. 

 

Well no. What happened is Currys and Hovis and acme medical Ltd used their connections to get lots of money and paid dodgey cunts in the third world to make shit that didn't work. Who'd have thought it?

 

If world war 2 happened now, Spitfires would be made out of old Honda parts by G4S.
