Passing a new law to acquit people seems a bit iffy to me. No doubt they need their convictions quashed but that should be through the proper legal channels. This sets a precedent and I don’t trust these Tory twats one bit and can see them using this in the future for their own gain.

Yeah, it’s dodgy and not what’s being asked for.

Looks like a bit of a trap for Sir Keef, if he backs it he’s breaking with legal precedent and creating a loop hole you know will be exploited, if he doesn’t he’s not a patriot and doing down the poor benighted posties, backbone of the country since the Tories discovered ‘em last week.

Starmer should try and meet with the group before this law is enacted and discuss with them why he shouldn't back it, but at the same time that should he be elected his government would work through the proper legal channels to have their convictions quashed.

Surely the best way to deal with this is to ensure the law only applies to this situation, is dependent on Horizon faulty data and it be incumbent on the post office to provide evidence when a case based on horizon if the prosecution/verdict is to stand, they need to present new evidence or they're cleared.

Penny Maurdant's body language at PMQs was weird. Maybe its just her, but she looked distant, removed and unsupportive. Sunak's performance was poor. I wonder if they are all getting sick of him - it is a very weak front bench.

Has been for months mate, she's waiting in the wings. Rear End Admiral Mourdant, the worst thing to come out of Portsmouth since press ganging.

This country really is chocker with fucking morons...

From the article linked below:

Their biggest dismay was with the UK’s politicians. On Rishi Sunak, the prime minister, they were unsparing, questioning how someone “worth a billion dollars” could understand working people’s concerns. Maria, a support worker, explained she had “broken ranks” in 2019 to vote Tory but under Sunak the party weren’t “looking after ordinary working-class folk”.

They were similarly unimpressed by Sunak’s Labour opponent. While the group expected a Labour victory this year, they dismissed Keir Starmer as “more of the same”, a “Red Tory”. Others thought (mistakenly) that he had defended Jimmy Savile and couldn’t vote for him as a result.

Two politicians did get better reviews. While questioning Boris Johnson’s judgment (“how can you trust someone happy to have Cummings as an adviser?” asked Darron), most shared the view of Maria, who felt that although the former prime minister had been “extremely naughty” she still had a soft spot for him. Lee, a builder, said he was refreshing and that he’d want him “any day” over Sunak.

The other politician to meet the focus group’s approval was Nigel Farage. Jordan felt he was “down to earth” and Emily found it hard to disagree with lots he said. Even Maria, who was disappointed she hadn’t seen the Brexit £350m, said she’d forgive Farage and give him another chance.

Staggering isn't it....

The tories and their media have done a great job of killing belief in politics haven't they....

Nobody wanted Corbyn and he was seen as bad so that is the left/socialist side rejected and demonised....Nobody seems to want Starmer's version of Labour though either. Now been lumped in the 'as bad as what we have' bin.....Both slated despite never having a chance to prove selves.

Yet Johnson a man who was in power and who did all the shite he did remains popular and people 'forgive' him.

This country is full of cunts.

And as for 'Starmer defended Savile' just shows these fucking beauts don't look further than the daily express et al for their world view.

Cunts.

I'm torn between voting for Labour and voting Green.

I'm in the St Ives constituency and it's never ever returned a Labour winner, it's always been Tory or Tory Lite.  The highest vote share was 38% back in 1918.

I know it's be throwing my vote away this year, but I'm tempted to try and show there is a future for them in Cornwall, that there's generation X and millennials who have no intention of voting Tory or Lib Dem.

If it is marginal between the vermin and the dems then sadly you'd probably have to vote lib dem surely?

Looks like it is too 25,000 to 21,000 in the vermins favour in 2019.

Lab way back on 3,000, Greens less than 1,000.

Where I am, Kwasi Kwarteng has an 18k majority over the 2nd place Labour candidate. Even though I reckon this will be reduced at the next election, the dopey little Englanders round here will still vote for him. I'll still be voting Labour. You never know.

I would be tempted in the same situation, but I just don't trust the Lib Dems after 2010, and Swinson's ridiculous antics in 2019.

Yeah but if it stops the tories winning a seat and it is the only realisitic option to do so then surely it has to be case.

Depends if they're willing to prop the Tories up again, 'for the sake of the nation'. I doubt it as they got annihilated in 2015, but then nobody really thought they'd do what they did in 2010.

Until we get rid of the shite system and move to PR this situation will sadly be one people are in often.

It is same where i live now - two horse race - vermin v lib dems...i literally have no choice.

I don't regard it as much different if the LDs get in.  They did a deal with them once, they'd do it again, fuck that, I'm not giving them my vote just to see them later hand it to the Tories again.

The LDs are political parasites.  Stand for nothing.  Absolutely fucking nothing.

Think you are missing point.

Only two parties can win this election - so for me you surely vote as follows - directly against the tories in any marginal seat to stop them winning a seat....
