Another boot on the face of football history, with a side bankrolled by a bottomless pit of money and the footballing authorities turning a completely blind eye.

The worst thing of it is the fact that Manchester City should provide a pretty fucking stark lesson in what they're trying to do: come in, lash around a few quid buying the loyalty of the fans (and in relation to the wealth of the owners it's the equivalent of buying a few rounds in the pub) and suddenly your name is blended together with the club you bought along with fan loyalty to it, and you've got a legion of brainwashed apologists for anything you do, all prepared to defend your actions to the death as much as they'd defend their club. Just have a look on Twitter any time Abu Dhabi are accused of anything - there'll be dozens of cunts from Middleton to Malaysia with Pep profile pictures defending them to the hilt because they bought Leroy Sane. Just last week they were out doing PR work on behalf of their Emirati masters accused of charging rent for the Nightingale Hospital. We've seen it all before. Some cunt called Pepaholic or something coming out with paint by numbers shit like "yeah but your owners tried to furlough their staff, look at our glorious leaders paying all of our stewards with the change they keep on top of the fucking microwave."

Already half the dickheads round here have got Saudi flags in their fucking Twitter handles and no doubt the next time a journalist is found chopped up in a skip there'll be half of the population of Tyneside declaring that he had it coming because Newcastle are in the Champion's League.

Another reason why it would be moronic to turn our nose up at winning the title if the season has to be truncated. With another mega-money, state run club in the mix, it could easily be decades before we win it again. In all likelihood, City and Newcastle will be playing pass the title more often than not over the next 20+ years.

Its another indicator of how the Arabs are trying to diversify away from their oil revenues and pump their filthy tainted lucre into football and other industries. I miss the days of takeovers from the likes of Barney Fry,local chip shop king or 'Honest' Bill Smith, the local used car lot magnate.

Same could have been said for Chelsea and then Man City. It always gets sold as a sort of romantic underdog story too, as if the inevitable success is somehow earned when no-hope clubs get billions foisted upon them.

No one knows what the Saudis will do for them, plenty of rich owners don’t put too much in. Wait and see shall we.

A nation state eager to sportwash its tyranny isn’t going to fail to invest what it takes to ‘win’ leagues. They’ll spend like City and people in all of their madcap idiocy will assert that they’ve genuinely ‘won’ titles merely because they finished with most points or scored the most goals in a final.

Charlton will be CL winners in the next 5 years then.

Check out the worth of some of the owners in the Championship, worth more than ours. Newcastle may well sweep the board.

I dont think they will spend like city. They might be majority owners but there are other parties involved. I cannot see the other two, especially Staveley, saying to the Saudi's crack on and splash the cash while I just watch from the side lines.

Great, just great. Blatant m*rderers sportswashing again. Fit and proper owners alright.

I've always had a softspot for Newcastle stemming way back to the Frank Pingel days when they we're in the second division.

My favorite story of him is in his debut I think it was, someone bit him in the neck in a duel and he had to be stitched, when he came back on the same player elbowed him in the wound and he had to be stitched again. Old school football. Don't think he ever mentioned who it was. He is also proper thick so I'm not sure if he even knows. He is funny none the less.

Now they can fuck off, bunch of rabid dogs.

Is there any regime that wouldn't pass the fit and proper test.

Fucking hell Hicks and Gillette had a long history of levarged buy outs and fucking up business and sports.

The regimes in the middle East had a history of being outright cunts

Saudis of chopping up journo lists
