She was in work this morning and took a test about an hour ago.

She was due to go back at 3:00 but rang the head to let him know she won't be in for at least the rest of the week which went well as they're expecting a visit from OFSTED anytime soon.

The reason none of this WhatsApp stuff and dead people in care homes shocks me is because I have a far lower opinion of our betters. I can't work out if the people who're saddened/shocked by all this are naive or what. 

 

You have to effectively rethink the principles you've been taught all your life, whether you went to Sunday school or watch TV/films where the bad guys always lose and we're all essentially nice people save for a few bad apples. 

 

Humanity has always been in the grip of an invisible war between everyday people who show empathy and compassion, and psychopaths. Shit gets out of hand when the psychopaths get the whip hand over the rest of us (they constitute broadly one in 100 people). 

 

They're not necessarily Norman Bates types,  they simply have a brain that's structured in a different way - you can see it on an  MRI. To them, setting you on fire is no different to setting a piece of wood on fire, they simply don't understand the difference.

 

We've managed to contain them over time with things like laws, religion (do that and you – YOU – will go to hell), social convention, warrior code (hey thug guy, don't kill civilians it's 'dishonourable').

The problems ensue when these people are unleashed by upheaval, such as the rise of the Nazis, prohibition or in our case - Thatcherism. 

 

They destroyed the North because they didn't care,  they destroyed the banks because they didn't care, they destroyed the state because they didn't care, they threw old and vulnerable people to the wolves because they didn't care - the sooner you reconcile yourself with this, the sooner things will start to make sense. 

 

Think of people like Trump, Johnson, Hancock et al and tell me this isn’t accurate:

 

Glib and superficial.
Egocentric and grandiose.
Lack of remorse or guilt.
Lack of empathy.
Deceitful and manipulative.
Shallow emotions. 

 

They also don't understand long term consequences, for themselves or anyone else - that's why they'd happily destroy the economy in exchange for a hundred quid.

When will these absolute fucking drains realise that nobody wanted lockdowns either but far more importantly people didn't want people dying in their thousands. Nothing about the pandemic was wanted. Sacrifices had to be made. Of course the impact of any decision was going to be bad.
