Southampton winning the net spend trophy thanks to us.

We'll have to settle for third, hopefully Klopp can do a bit of shrewd business in the summer and close the gap, especially if Southampton and Swansea both get relegated. 30e249ea0ba0e8fe219aa7f8a9583c8e.jpg

A decent reminder that the expectations for United should be roughly the same as those for City.

One is always portrayed as the team with all the money, while United is grouped in with us, Spurs, Chelsea, and Arsenal. It's bollocks. Mourinho is failing with the resources he has available and if it wasn't for De Gea he'd be failing miserably.

Quite contrary, I can't remember ever seeing anyone lumping us in with Man U when it comes to spending.

Klopp and Mourinho are often judged as if they have similar resources and expectations.

"Klopp is lauded, yet Mourinho has United above them in the league" type stuff.

Same with Pochettino. "Yeah but Tottenham haven't won anything, whilst Mourinho won the League Cup..." etc

It isn't so much that they're lumped in with us when talking about resources, it's that they barely mention the resources when talking about the two of us. The only criticism of United is about their appalling style of football. Whilst true, it is appalling, they're also failing regardless. They should be much closer to City and in the CL semis every season with the resources they have.

Mourinho will fail again on both scores next season, in my opinion.

What we reckon for tonight then?

I know Real are obviously favourites but they shipped 3 goals to Juve at their own gaff so I reckon Bayern might make a decent go of it.

I reckon Real are nailed on with the help of the twelfth man i.e. the ref
