Brexit is a binary issue, though. In or out

I think we're past nuances and the complexities of it all

I disagree, the nuance and detail is needed and has, largely, been ignoring.  The failure to take it into account or deal with it has been the reason it's gone nowhere.

He says he wants remain over no deal, but can't rule out campaigning for a labour deal if they're in power.  It's not that complex.

Yeah, thanks for the clarification.

I've never paid that close attention to his face, but I don't think you could reasonably say he looks like he’s aged more than 4 years since 2015.

I totally disagree about his mental agility. That interview is a good example; he answered the questions, stuck to his guns and avoided giving them any ammo. He occasionally loses his rag - when they harass him outside his house or when they insist on chatting shit - but not often at all and certainly no more often than he used to.

To be fair, if he conducted an interview slouched in his chair with his knob hanging out, dribbling and speaking in tongues, you'd be "nothing to see here"

No, he's not divisive. Some of the pro-austerity/pro-Apartheidt Westminster leftovers from the New Labour era are determined to divide the party, but the leader (who "can't lead") unites hundreds of thousands of people to the extent that Rico's mob try to portray us as a brainwashed cult.

I think that's a fair point. He certainly has raised the amount of subs to the Labour movement, if the figures I've seen are correct. That said, recently there's been a hefty drop off, so that can't be ignored either.

I am not an expert but I think the thread was started by a supporter and there have been a number of supporters throughout that suggest he may be divisive/unelectable.

Maybe there should be a Plan B?

Putting all of the main issues to one side,  Corbyn's age alone should suggest that a plan B should be under consideration.

Corbyn was originally going to make this his last parliament as an MP , so I am sure that he would fairly happily pass the baton on to a more energetic leftish leader and has even pushed new leadership election rules through against centrist opposition to ensure the best chance of this.

I am sure that discussions have been had, but to my eye the problem is that there is a paucity of credible candidates who can ensure that the party does not go straight back to the bad old Red-Tory era. Due to Blair's approach to the 'broad church' that is insisted on for Corbyn , we have a situation where any actual socialist MP's are either not much younger than Corbyn or relative newbies.

From the oldies I would look at McDonnell who has the backbone required and seems a little less detested by the luvvies but isn't that much younger than Corbyn ( although looking well on it ) or from the younger faction I like Rebecca Long-Bailey who comes across extremely well and has a  back story that would be rejected as too idealised for an ideal Labour leader in a fictional novel  ( Union rep dad , loads of shit jobs in call centres and pawnbrokers before getting herself qualified as a solicitor and going into politics and backing Corbyn's first election campaign) She is coming up 40.

I keep hearing Starmer's name but he is a chicken-couper and Tom Watson plotter who would have us back in the Blairite slime within 10 minutes.

He looks absolutely fucked to me. Physically he looks drained, his face is a particular give away, his slouched shoulders too. But he seems mentally much slower now than he has been. His ability to think on his feet and getting irritable very easily.

For clarity, I don’t mean literally his arms and legs are coming off. I mean he looks shagged.

Yawn.

I’ve mentioned him before but If I were Labour I’d look at Clive Lewis, young, charismatic, free from baggage, military background. I reckon he’d do ok

I don't think Corbynism can work without Corbyn. His creation myth and status as the heir to Tony Benn is essential to the project.

What the fuck is the above post about ?

Do people still listen to the shit this cunt posts?

"Mentally slower"

"Slouched shoulders"

"Ability to think on his feet"

He answered the questions. That's what an interview is numero you fucked up fantasist ballbag. It's about answering the question put

I'm guessing with your dubious heritage you would have preferred a little more spark, maybe Corbyn could have treated the interview with a little sing and dance.

The rest of your nonsense washed over me because I just don't respect you enough to give a shit about your opinion of me, but the fact you keep on about this is pretty funny. I do love the way you address the forum about whether or not to listen to me. I would be curious to see who people - even the ones here who don't like me - think is more credible out of the two of us. But whatever, don't let me stop you from banging on about my heritage in the same way you spoke about a member of my family getting banged by gypos doing my driveway. Do carry on.

Unconfirmed reports recently that Jeremy Corbyn has got "A Nation Once Again" as his ringtone.

I think having a military background would likely help protect him from a certain amount of criticism. That would certainly be a bonus for him. I've not seen a great amount from him recently. I assume he'd be one of a handful to run though.

They'd probably Photoshop him into the leaked photos from Abu Gharib.

This is why, for all his banging on about Benn, Foot and Crow on the EU thread, I don't count Gnasher as a left-winger; not when he spouts racist shit like that.
