Witnessed an EDL rally in Bolton once, it was quite bizarre. Two double decker bus loads of them had got tanked up then were escorted by police to an official staging ground in the park. The anti fascists likewise. They were all then corralled into two metal pens with about 20 feet between them where they were allowed to shout abuse at each other for an hour.

 

The EDL had their own DJ. Interestingly though, the anti fascists were the only ones being filmed by police.

 

The highlight was when they were all walking into the park and an old fella at the gate just unfurled a huge Soviet flag. A few people called him a paedo, and a bloke who looked like Bill Oddy went bat shit and started acusing communists of mass murder, he was promptly wrestled to the floor and taken away by police.

 

The police also had horses there with a special copper walking in front of them asking people to get out of the way while the horses meandered through. Defeated the object somewhat I thought.
