Haha, just seen a LVG quote, and I'm paraphrasing a little but basically he has said he has left Luke Shaw in their European squad as an incentive to get fit because he could make the final on the 18th of May.

Now I know he has some pull in Europe due to his years of management but didnt know he could hand pick ballboys for prestigious games.

Genuine quotes from Paul Parker. They should listen to him. Please.

" To suggest that [Mourinho] could walk in to a crisis situation at United and turn it around is absurd. That's something he's never done in his career, and this really wouldn't be the time to start. He's lost a huge amount of respect in the game, and I suspect the players at United hate the idea of him taking over. Frankly, given how unhappy the players are right now, they'd be better off bringing in Tim Sherwood between now and the end of the season: someone to soft soap the players, give them a bit of a cuddle, get them feeling good about themselves once again.

Sadly, as we've seen with Tim, those sorts of managers don't work long term. And United need to start thinking about the long term as soon as possible, because if not they face the ultimate danger: turning into the new Liverpool. "

Timmy to steady the ship until the end of the season, and Remy Garde to take over in the summer then.

Them suddenly naming a stand after Charlton this week was instructive as to what happens next.

He'll all but die of a broken heart when Mourinho takes over, especially when reality quickly kicks in, and they need him at least publicly onside as the soul of the brand and all that shit they play on.

Making the usual virtue of their traditions while appointing the person most anti-what they've always professed to be about.

Sums them up a treat.

As if they would ever have the class to be "the new Liverpool".

The new Leeds, maybe, but not the new Liverpool.

Make it so, Timmy.  Make it so.
