It is understood that Darwin Nunez, Luis Diaz, Alexis Mac Allister, Trent Alexander-Arnold & Joe Gomez will play no part in the USA tour, with their late report dates rendering any travel pointless.

Assuming the players take their full 3 week break, I’m surprised VVD, Konate and Gakpo will be travelling. The earliest they will be back is 1st August, they wouldn’t feature v Arsenal on the same day, is there any point them being there for 3 days before we play the mancs and fly home?

Similar argument could be made for Jota as well. Earliest he will arrive back is 27th July. I doubt he’ll take part in Betis and Arsenal, maybe v the mancs. Suppose he’s there for a week, would it be better doing his fitness work at Kirkby?

The whole calendar is a shambles - how are clubs supposed to operate like this..Especially if as we are you have a new manager and new coaching team.

People going nuts on Facebook over this result.

Pre-season is just another thing in modern Football that needs to go in the bin.

It really absolute shite.

Games that noboby would even know were happening are now analysed like league games by some absolute weapons.

And then there are those stupid tours to America/Asia where half cooked teams play, often in ridiculous heat to stadiums full of whoppers paying a fortune to watch half arsed efforts - all this shite supported by all sorts of stupid content put out by the clubs to feed the internet.

The shitness of what the clubs do is bad enough, the ridiculous coverage of it and associated reactions to it move it to a whole different level of utter shitness.

It really is one of the shitness of modern football's shittest things.

I can see that tour being a blood bath where we lose to both Prem teams and scrape a result against Betis, especially if the most important (only) part of football some care about hasn't been ticked off and we've not signed anyone.

I can't see any business we do being done earlyish this summer - think if we do anything it will be in the week before season/deadline day.

Must be murder for new manager and coaching staff too - players coming back at all sorts of different times, very little time to work with key men and get them working on whatever new stuff they want to do and on top of that not a lot of quiet time to analyse things with a view to deciding where may want to bring in fresh faces.

Feels far from ideal having such deep change in what is a disrupted summer - but it is what it i suppose.

It's gonna be another season of watching Salah lose possession 20 times a game with 3 of his 4 shots being back passes isn't it?

On a more positive aspect, how about that Nyoni kid. The next breakout star from the academy for sure, love the confidence he shows with his close control dribbling, forward thinker and looking to make things happen. Not baaaaaaaad.
