Jones should be absolutely embarrassed by how much more intelligent Nyoni is than him.

Don't worry he's delighted he'll get more of the ball

(Until Slot realises he takes far too long on it and can't see a pass)

Nyoni has been brilliant. Harvey Elliot stinking the place out as usual.

Very interesting 1st half.
Total domination by us.
Great goal by Szobo following great play by Tre Nyoni.
Big differences under Slot?
He plays a double pivot and the midfield gets a lot more of the ball. We play tons of short pssses and our defenders and midfielders are asked to be much braver on the ball and playing through the lines.
Slot ball is tailor made for Kelleher and his excellent passing.
Best player was Bradley. Tsimi played well too. Mo good, Szobo good, Quansah good. Elliot invisible. Carvalho did nowt. Endo poor. Van den Berg not good enough on the ball to play in a Slot team.
Dread to see how Gomez uses the ball in tight areas.
I think Jonesy picked up a knock and was replaced by Nyoni. That kid looked excellent.
Anyway, back to it...

Our play through midfield has been excellent. Really impressed with it, we out number them there with cleverly timed runs. And the passing has been top notch between the lines.

Not sure I like the build up play from the keeper though, it's overly risky. Can see that catching us out quite a bit. Endo showed his weaknesses with that, and like you say Gomez will find it hard too.

Nobody cares what you think. He was terrifyingly good at points.

He's got lots of talent but he needs loaned out or kept with the kids. He's nowhere near good enough to be around the first team. Needs to pick his head up more. Hopefully it'll come

I had to struggle fighting off sleep for the last half an hour but liked what I saw mostly. Also glad that we didn't do the full change for half time so that our starting players got a bit more time getting used to what they're doing again, hoping that keeps happening.

Twas a bit boring, but it was good to see the green shoots of his philosophy. Bit more City esque than what we're used to and it's only the start.

Still think we need a world class 6,a thiago or busquets type to receive the ball in a phone box and get out of it again, if that's eventually what he wants us to do when playing out.

Also, the better players will create more space for the player in that position.

Nice to get the win and see some of the young players.

Nyoni looked very good and he's only just 17

First pre season game out the way and it sure felt like a pre season game. Mostly drab, flat atmosphere, neither side really offering much offensively.

Played good stuff the time Nyoni was on the pitch, otherwise it wasn’t really worth staying up for.

If we play our wingers that wide we need to buy a right wing left foo.. Kudus we need to buy Kudus. Salah isn't the chalk on the boots player. Be interesting to see how the season goes I dont really like the risky play from the back and invite pressure but that's football theses days largely. Pre season I'd like to see Salah as the forward closest to goal he is still by far our best finisher and the guy who is the next best finisher is always injured.

I got in in time for kick off, and watched 20 minutes or so. The Mrs wanted to watch the Olympics opening ceremony and I didn't fight it. Reminded me pre-season, even under a brand new manager, tells you jack shit.

A pre-season friendly or the Olympics opening ceremony? What a choice.

God I’m sick of Salah already this season and I didn’t even watch the game.

I'd be looking forward to see him closer to goal but listening to Slots presser he said he played with 2 number 10s because there was no forward available you'd think if it was in his thoughts then Salah would of played there. I'm guessing if we buy a right winger it will be a young understudy to Salah so not a big buy. He said Szloboslai and Elliot will play as 10s through out the season, so Mac allister will be deeper?

My take as well. Nyoni was really good. We need to be careful with him though, he’s only just turned 17 and he clearly doesn’t have an adults body yet.

I've been banging on to my mates for the past few weeks that I'm putting €20 on us to win the league, but I also told them I was waiting until we lost our 3 preseason games in the US to lower they odds before placing the bet...

So last night's result has kind of scuppered that.... Damn you Arne!

I’m not even taking the piss here but if he’s looking at playing with two 10’s this season I would 100% put Trent in there.
