Dear me. As I have doubtless posted already, the greatest album ever made is, as any fule kno, "It Takes A Nation Of Millions To Hold Us Back" by Public Enemy.

End of discussion.

As far as guitars go, then it's "Doolittle" and "Surfer Rosa" by the Pixies.

And "Substance" by Joy Division.

If we are talking electronic, ambient and dance music, "Microgravity" by Biosphere, "Selected Ambient Works" Aphex Twin, "Ginger" Speedy J, and any albums or mixes by Luke Slater, Jeff Mills, Dave Clarke, DJ Rolando, Underground Resistance, Joey Beltram and Richie Hawtin

None of this tripe should ever even be considered when discussing the best album ever made.

I've given it a lot of thought and I couldn't come up with a definitive "best" so I decided to make a list of my favourite albums. It was extremely difficult getting it down to a respectable size!!

Passion and Warfare-Steve Vai

Erotic Cakes-Guthrie Govan

Rubber Soul-The Beatles

Wish You Were Here-Pink Floyd

Foxtrot-Genesis

In The Court Of The Crimson King-King Crimson

Dark Side Of The Moon-Pink Floyd

Animals-Pink Floyd

Moving Pictures-Rush

Larks' Tongues In Aspic-King Crimson

Birds of Fire-Mahavishnu Orchestra

Hemispheres-Rush

Meddle-Pink Floyd

Images And Words-Dream Theater

Permanent Waves-Rush

Metropolis Part 2: Scenes From A Memory-Dream Theater

The Perfect Element Part 1-Pain of Salvation

Elegant Gypsy-Al Di Meola

The Grand Wazoo-Frank Zappa

Remedy Lane-Pain of Salvation

In a Silent Way-Miles Davis

De-loused in the Comatorium-The Mars Volta

The Inner Mounting Flame-Mahavishnu Orchestra

One Size Fits All-Frank Zappa

The Human Equation-Ayreon

Les Porches-Maneige

Not a bad list... Hemispheres is an inspired choice for sure. Moving Pictures possibly a bit too obvious. Looks like a Muso's list to me (no bad thing).

Tubular Bells might make the list.

Mine would be (in no order)

Regatta de Blanc - The Police

Hemispheres - Rush

Dark Side Of The Moon - Pink Floyd

Bat Out Of Hell - Meatloaf

The Joshua Tree - U2

Rumours - Fleetwood Mac

OK Computer - Radiohead

Blood on the Tracks - Bob Dylan

War of the Worlds - Jeff Lyne

Moving Pictures - Rush

Anybody else go for 'Now That's What I Call Music - 1'?

Good call... makes for a fantastic ornamental loo seat.

But to be fair, those 'Now' albums were a bit of a revelation at the time... being able to actually afford all the hits at a decent price (which I don't believe had happened before) - there was a lot of complaints about it from the music industry (wankers).

Fuckin' 'ell Moof that guitar shite you posted is bad!

The bloke can play, but fuck me he couldn't find a tune if his life depended on it.

Horrible.

Dear me.

First of all, go and get some taste; then once you've done that, accrue some knowledge.

Then literally fuck yourself in the face.

(Seriously though, you're badly wrong spanner!)

I love it when people get in a tizzy about selecting their favourite anything, but especially music and movies. It's not like you are going to be interrogated about it in 10 years and go to jail, just pick somet5hing that comes to mind or hasn't been mentioned yet, you big dithering jessies!
