The Esk part 2

Conclusion:

It almost doesn’t require saying but the financial condition of Everton Football Club is frankly absurd, and testament to the atrocious management of the club by Farhad Moshiri.

Despite his £750 million investment in the club, the club currently has circa £580 million of external debt (excluding Moshiri’s shareholder loans £450 million). It has not secured long term and complete financing for Bramley-Moore. It continues to require monthly additional loans to meet its expenses and its tenure within the Premier League remains perilous. Add in Moshiri’s choice of potential purchasers of his shares, unable, to date, to meet the conditions for Premier League approval and there is no wonder at all as to the severity of the warnings (and appropriateness of those warnings) as to the club’s future.

The Brick talking about itself in the third person, quality. I'm gonna try and slip this comment in to the Mrs at some point today.

"Where has the Brick said this?"

All The Brick (pub) had to do was tweet that they are not the same as The Brick Travel, which is a seperate company. It all went to hell in a handbasket when they tried to defend The Brick Travel's blatant racism by trying to excuse it as anger at seeing people who don't have the required credits with away tickets. And then doubling down on it instead of apologising.

I keep seeing this thing about Moshiri’s management being atrocious etc.  the reality was that they were aiming to be like Chelsea.  For whatever reason money wasn’t an object to Usmanov.  He was happy to throw good money after bad and so on.  The problem for Usmanov was that unlike Chelsea when they started they weren’t the only club doing it and they weren’t in London so they weren’t going to attract the same calibre of players.

They were happy to cheat their way through financial rules and the fans were complicit.  It’s now only a problem because the Russian billionaire can’t keep funnelling money in.  The same thing would happen at City if their owners pulled the plug and it nearly did at Chelsea until various muppets decided to value them at 2.5bn and they’re getting what they deserve now.

The stadium was an insane decision from the off.  It was never going to pay for itself never mind increase revenue enough to make them profitable.  The fans completely deserve this mess for their own arrogant behaviour and head in the clouds thinking about the stadium.

The only saving grace for them is that it probably is actually Usmanov getting the money into the club under the guise of 777 to keep them going and that’s the reason it’s dragging on.  The reality is that nobody in their right mind would buy them with all that debt not even those clowns.

Is it even legal Usmanov funneling money in via 777. If it’s found to be the truth then surely Everton should be melted down into glue and the proceeds from the big glue sale to go to a Ukranian war child fund.

I think with the sanctions Usmanovs under it 100% won’t be legal.  The only way he’s getting money in is via illegal means though.  The fact that these shady characters are the only people they’re considering and they’re throwing money at the club every month via loans they can’t ever expect to get back as they would be last on the list if it went under.  Add to the fact they’re clearly refusing to show where this money is coming from.  The whole thing is mental.  It has to be Usmanov because who else would be doing what they’re doing?

If there was a hint of Usmanov being behind 777 then the National Crime Agency would be all over 777 and Everton for being involved with a designated person.

Which would be fucking hilarious.

Josh wander would be in nick quicker than you can say "anyone want to smuggle an oz of coke?". A lot of these sanctions though could be dumped if trump gets elected (certainly US side, but I would imagine we'll follow suit), maybe that's what they're holding on for and happy to delay?

Nah, there's money to be made off that if you've got a sitting tenant. Someone will pick up a brand new 750m stadium for probably a third or half of that.

Hum, you need big crowds every other week to make money out of it.

hard to picture a big brand new stadium unused, I guess the City would do everything to help Everton.
