I tried to play that last night but it was harder than I remembered. The ghosts opened a can of whoopass on me after about 5 seconds. There were hundreds of them.

Just downloaded the updated version of this as I only had version 0.83 and have been playing two of my favourites: Rolling Thunder and Contra (the latter being far harder than I remember). Amazing games, indeed.

 

Can anyone help though, please? I'm trying to find another old classic favourite of mine but can't remember the name. You were this blond haired dude and you started off on this outdoor, rocky moonscape. It was a 2D shooter with a little platform-y element. You're attacked by these sort of life sized, walking ants and you have to make your way to a space station where the actual game takes place. Inside you have to teleport around whilst collecting parts of some plans. I think it's something like Joe's something or Jake's something or other - I think it's got a bloke's name in the title.

 

Any help would be much appreciated but otherwise get onto Rolling Thunder if you haven't played it before - it doth verily rock.

I watched it the other day TK, and have always thought this dude had a really striking face for someone who has a non-speaking part in 1.5 seconds of a film.

 

Yeah, it's a very memorably shot. In the book it describes them as men "who knew they were about to die".

Operation wolf is dead hard to control with a gamepad. Gutted cause I loved that game.

 

Have you tried using the mouse hamstrung - shooting games seam to work pretty good with a mouse instead of joypad (Star Wars is another that works well with the mouse)

 

In mameuifx32 go to - options > default game options > controller mapping - then change the lightgun, trackball, dial settings to mouse.

 

All the trackball n lightgun games should work with the mouse then
