Underrated film.

 

Its the Coens best movie in my opinion. Very good acting, funny, imaginative scenes (The mad bank robber, KKK scene). I love the way they take everything in their stride. Boss soundtrack too.

I'll raise my glass to that. The soundtrack is indeed excellent. I got the chance about a year ago to see Dan Tyminski in concert, the guy who sings for George Clooney, and he is a fantastic singer, in addition to playing the mandolin. I tend to see this movie as taking a stab at everything right with southern culture, which is quite a relief in an age of ... well George Bush and the lot of them Texans.

I love the film. Loads of hilarious parts. Clooney is really good in it, and agree that it shows his versatility. The music is good too.

I missed that comment otherwise I'd have been all over it. It's a poor man that can't love Gorgeous George.

The only blur on Clooneys career is Batman from what I have seen, he is brilliant in everything else.

They've clearly got him mixed up with Tom Cruise. Did you try telling them Clooney's not much of a Scientologist? Remind them it's Cruise who jumps on couches in public shouting about this or that. That should clear up any confusion.

I think the Peacemaker with Kidman came first but you're right, it got him viewed as a movie actor rather than television actor.

Even though I loved it at the cinema I've had trouble watching it again as it's been on my shelf since it was released. I will try again soon and I love the soundtrack. Maybe it's the yellow/brown grading that's putting me off.

 

I new the new film is more Blood Simple style thriller and that has a big thumbs up from me. Wednesday matinee it is.

Clooney is real A-list. The term was invented for him.

 

Most of the stuff he's in is good quality. Good night and good luck was exceptional, and he plays an understated and un-Clooney role in it.

No country for old men is absolutely amazing, one of the best movies I've seen in years! Javier bardem is outstanding as the bad guy, probably the best movie psycho since Mr. Blonde. The Coen's are back to their brilliant best with this one!
