Gerd Muller......Please educate.

Being that i am American and should probably not ever try to post drunk anymore about BBQing(as DT pointed out), i wanted to know why i never hear his name being said as one of the best ever players. His scoring recond has to be second to no-one, so why is he never considered?

I've seen reruns of games in which he featured and heard a lot about him. Not the most technically gifted of players. Was even bow legged apparently. However whenever the ball dropped inside the box he was there to slot it home.
