They love Diao.

My mate who's a Stoke fan sent me a match report from a fansite and Diao was man of teh match and was described as having 'The grace of a swan.'

Stoke City Man of the Match - Salif Diao

You couldn't help but admire the way that Salif Diao completely controlled the midfield, nor the seemingly effortless way in which he conducted his business at times. He can get himself dirty when he has to - throw himself into tackles and headers with genuine commitment - but for the most part he has the grace of a swan and it is a delight to watch. An outstanding display for The Potters here by Diao.

stoke have been brilliant since salif went there. i can see them winning that league the way they're going.

A Stoke fan phoned in "You're on Sky Sports" last night and said that Salif had been "unbelievable!".

This will not suprise many on here, we know his true brilliance!!!

This sounds like an average review on Salifs performances in a Liverpool shirt - what a player!!!!!!

How many more years on Diao's contract? Another one isn't it?

Would save a few million if Stoke take him permanently.

this is his last year i think. i heard they're paying him 7k a week and we make up the rest. so it won't save us a great deal i don't think. it'll be a bonus in the summer though when he's off the wage bill all together.

I always liked Salif as a person, but he's an enigma wrapped in a mystery.

Remember that goal he scored in the '02 World Cup that finished off one of the best passing moves ever seen at the tournament?

Then, suddenly, it became clear he was hopelessly out of his depth with us.

I think Ged's judgement was impaired by the trauma of the heart problems the previous winter, hence £20m on the Three Stooges (Cheyrou, Diouf, Diao). If you take out those three, his transfer record was no better or worse than Wenger or Ferguson during the same period.
