I just watched a phone security video. I didn’t realise when you plug a usb cable from wall to phone the cable not only transfers power but can also transfer data. You can buy a data blocker but without that your data on your phone is vulnerable to being hacked. Would explain a lot, especially if cables are sold in China and/or Russia.

I got the impression of the opposite from the interview I read. It was like he realised he'd been giving her free her coke and just wasn't surprised when she knew it wasn't enough and was doubling up with the whizz too, but once she was on the whizz, he'd lost control.
