I love S&G, I got into them at about 14 after hearing The Boxer. This verse in particular gets me every time, just beautifully done.

 

In the clearing stands a boxer, and a fighter by his trade
And he carries the reminders
Of every glove that laid him down or cut him
'Til he cried out in his anger and his shame
"I am leaving, I am leaving", but the fighter still remains.

 

My favourite on the album is The Only Living Boy In New York, fantastic song. Here...I...Am....

Excellent bit in Billy Bragg's "Progressive Patriot" about when he first heard that song.  Well worth reading.
