Jurgen Klopp

We had a good team but we were pretty reliant on Suarez and the wheels came off when he left. Under Klopp it feels like any of our top players could leave and he is more capable of replacing them and it wouldn’t impact the team as much. No manager is perfect and each person is going to have their issues with some things he does.

I personally really like how level headed he is. Despite being the happy go lucky guy and the friend of the players he oozes authority. With the way his football is it causes anyone supporting us to go absolutely mental a lot of the times and would make most managers crumble. He keeps to his principles and there’s never even a sniff that the players don’t buy into his ideas.

I hate the cheap shots that people have about winning things. It really isn’t that easy with the high standard and very high budgets the club is competing with. If we have any hope of winning the league or the European Cup again it’s with this guy in charge.

The 2013-14 side wasn't a "team", it was an attack with wet cardboard for a midfield, defense and keeper.

With Klopp being much more in tune with the transfer people than Rodgers was, it will be a lot easier to guard against a meltdown like we had when Suarez left.

I think it is interesting that he has tried to distance himself from even the good signings - Salah being the work of the committee as example. TBH I dont think he gives a full shit about the transfer lark - he will be involved but he will never take complete accountability there. He hasn't ever needed to in the past so difficult to start now.

He's framing it as a team effort or giving other people credit because he knows the supporters don't trust the transfer people and because he's probably genuinely happy with their work.

And yes, also he's a coach first and foremost and probably doesn't give a shit who we sign as long as they have attributes he can work with.

According to the echo bit of a spat between Achterberg and Zeljko Buvac during the game over the delayed introduction of Lallana and who was at fault. Got to say that all looked like Jurgens fault from where I was sat as he took far to long to give Lallana his instructions.

Liverpool conceded in the 85th minute at a time when it appeared that they were trying to make a substitution, with Klopp claiming that Willian would not have scored had his switch, and a change to a five-man defence, taken place.

Klopp blamed Michael Oliver, the referee, for the delay to Adam Lallana’s arrival but it emerged that Liverpool were asked six times whether they wanted to make the substitution. The failure to do so led to an argument among the club’s backroom staff.

Lallana was stripped to make his comeback after almost four months out with a thigh injury at the same time that Willian was sent on by Chelsea.

Klopp wanted to switch to a five-man defence to protect a 1-0 advantage, yet when he gave the England midfielder his final instructions a delay followed. Liverpool then took a throw-in and were never in control of the ball again until Willian’s fortuitous effort beat Simon Mignolet to equalise.

The mix-up prompted a heated response from Zeljko Buvac, the Liverpool assistant manager, who was furious with John Achterberg, the goalkeeping coach, at the failure to get Lallana on to the pitch.

And he exploded in another rage when Chelsea equalised two minutes later and refused to speak to Achterberg, who liaises with the fourth official over substitutions, when Liverpool made a double change soon after, with Lallana and Sadio Mané eventually thrown on.

Achterberg has a well documented history at Liverpool of not making our goalkeepers better, and it could be reasonably argued that under his tutelage a succession of promising keepers have actually got worse. So yes, ironic if he’s binned for not making the sub fast enough.

Hopefully Buvac gives him a whack, and Klopp gives him the chop.

Can’t think of any more rhymes.

Last time we had perceived keeper issues, Corrigan was blamed.

What's the evidence that it's our coach that's shit, rather than simply we have two shit keepers?

The decline of Reina after Xavi Valero left.

Starting to look more like himself since.

Mingolet making more mistakes than he did at Sunderland.

But surely his years of experience at Tranmere stand him in good stead for training world beating goalkeepers?

Yeah, like Rafas playing experience in Spanish 2nd division, Klopps playing career, Wengers, Moaninhos, helped them go on to be one of best managers around at one point or another. It's almost like you don't have to be top of your profession to become a coach in it. I don't know much of Achterberg as a coach, he might be good, he might be shit. But to use his playing career for a sly (sarcastic)dig is cheap. Here's the goalkeeping coaches at both Mancs, Arse and Chelsea.

City. Xabier Mancisidor. RCD Mallorca Spanish 2nd division, relegated to 3rd Div with him in goal.

Chelsea. gianluca spinelli, never played professionally.

Utd. Emilio Alvarez. Spent most of his career in Spanish 2nd, never played in top league.

Arsenal. Gerry Peytin. Decent career in England, spent majority of it outside of the Top league
