United v Liverpool - match thread

Same score line at half time away to Arsenal and we were all fine. The team was playing well, creating chances, and you could see a lot of intent and purpose out there. But after that half? We were rubbish beyond belief. We couldn't string a couple of passes together and we were just so uninspired.

The best thing I can say is that it is all square and there's 45 minutes to go at Old Trafford. Surely we will have a go in the second half.

I'm not sure we were rubbish for the lack of trying.

They're more shite than us and we're not even trying to win.

True, the one encouraging thing about this match is how poor they are.

We are without our 4 of our 5 best players (although one is missing just because Brendan Rodgers prefers to play Lovren for some reason) and we're at least able to keep them from looking dangerous.

I feel bad for the poor lads in the production box who have to try to scrape together the halftime highlights.

I just don't understand what our plan is? we look like a team set up for counter attack but with absolutely no pace in the team. Benteke must be longing for his Aston Villa days, Can and Ings have been awful and even the sky commentators have given up on trying to talk the game up. At least Neville got one thing right "someone needs to tell Mignolet and the Liverpool centrebacks they are not very good on the ball"

The thing that really gets me is how slow, ponderous and un co-ordinated our play is...even when we aren't under pressure like that passage of play with Can and Mignolet.

We have a striker who just stands around waiting for the ball and our only attacking tactic is to launch it at him whilst nobody gets within 20 yards of him.

Rodgers needs to get a grip of this. A team at it and with quality would be battering us here.

And who else... Lallana?
