He didn’t say money was not a factor. You imagined that.

He said money was not the only factor. There’s a difference.

Quoting him here:

Dont get me wrong, when you move, the business deal has to be tight. You have to have financials, you have to feel wanted, you have to feel valued. And money is a part of that. But that wasn’t the sole reason.

Every so often my mind turns to Henderson and the extent of which he's just absolutely fucked it up.

The interview he did was bordering on lunacy. I know I should just get over it, but the fact that he's probably damaged his reputation to such an extent that I really don't think he can come back to Liverpool for even a testimonial is just bananas to me.

His comments about not feeling wanted are absolute bollocks and the lack of sincerity in the remainder of the interview just angered me to be honest.

What should have been the legacy of the most successful Liverpool captain in the modern era, who led our team to unparallel heights is now reduced to a footnote. The fact it has ended like this really upsets me to be honest. There should be monuments built to his time at Liverpool and instead it'll be just that, a foot note tarnished by a selfish move that contradicts everything he was supposedly about. The loss is ultimately his, but we've been denied a lifetime of adulation of a man who really was arguably our greatest ever captain.

Klopp has a different idea:

“There’s not a bit of bad blood or whatever," Klopp added. "He is the captain of the most successful team this club saw in the Premier League era and rightly so, he’s a sensational player.

“I wish him only the best and, when he comes here, from my point of view he gets a real farewell, everything, there’s nothing to misunderstand from that point of view.”

Klopp knows.

Care to tell us what you think his other reasons are then?

What Klopp knows is that he was basically done a favour footballing wise by Saudi and that he can be the bigger man.

All of this of course doesn't excuse Henderson a single bit.

He knows a lot more than that.

The best way to understand him is to take every thing he says at face value.
