Maybe I'm cynical but I'm always extremely suspicious when it comes to stories about general public's involvement in subduing terrorists. It almost never happens in any serious terrorist or attack of that kind, where even security people think twice before engaging.

What about Glasgow airport?

Weren't two of them members of the USA armed forces ? Or do you mean they were some sort of special agents following him

Was that actually prevented by members of public? I remember there was somebody punching the guy who was already on fire in the face. May be wrong.

Think some doctor drove into a bollard, set himself on fire and then got head-butted by a jock baggage handler. Shittest terror attack ever.

I'm not saying the entire story is made up, but there are still too few details, the attacker looks like a poorly trained lone wolf and he is apparently claiming this was not even planned as a terrorist attack. It may have been a number of circumstances going in favour of the guys who subdued him, apparently the attacker has not actually harmed anyone who did not attack him first, as in, he didn't  start shooting people on the train, he was jumped by some French guy who saw that he was armed first, then started shooting than he was jumped by the off duty soldiers.

Public normally don't engage because your instinct tells you not to, unless you can read the situation and this is extremely difficult in the case of a terrorist attack.

  • 1 year later...

A car has hit 10 people in Times Square, 1 dead so far. Not certain its terror related but its pretty fucking odd to have a car speeding in that part of town

The driver is in custody too apparently, definitely looks like 'terrorist' motives.

Edit - NYPD are saying he was pished and it isn't a terrorist attack.

20 people injured now.

There can only be religious extremists if there are religious people. Religion needs to be wiped out.

Jesus wept

Are you going to apply that childish logic to everything bad in the world?

...yes, it should be applied if appropriate to everything else that is bad in the world. Although there is nothing anywhere near as bad as religion.

Here's Strontium Dog again, not wanting to suppress religion.
