Ashley Williams, Hatem Ben Arfa, Christian Eriksen, Stefan de Vrij, Lazar Markovic all being watched by #LFC.

Ben Arfa - surely irrespective of his huge talent he's way too much of an injury risk, for a club who just cannot afford yet another white elephant.

Are we watching Ben Arfa sitting on his arse at home while he is injured?

Creepy!

Report: Brendan Rodgers to be given £20m summer budget

By Simon Sinclair, Reporter

Filed: Sunday, March 17, 2013 at 03:45 UK

Last Updated: Sunday, March 17, 2013 at 03:59 UK

Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers has been told by the club's board he will given only £20m to spend this summer, according to reports.

Rodgers has outlined his ambition to turn the Reds back into Champions League contenders once again but will have to do so on a limited budget.

The Mirror suggests the former Swansea City manager may be forced into selling some of the players on the fringes of his squad to raise funds for any summer additions.

The board have insisted Rodgers will have the final decision on whether to cash in on star asset Luis Suarez.

However, no move is likely to happen due to the Uruguayan's form this season and his hero status amongst the club's supporters.

Yeah just speculation but if we can get something for Caroll and Coates it should bump it up to the 30-35m mark or thereabouts. Plus we have Carra's salary off the wage bill which is pretty substantial

We're gonna have to be pretty clever in the summer with regards to who we sign and the positions we try to fill.

20m plus sales should give us a decent sum. Skrtel- 8m,Coates 3m

,Carroll 15m, Downing (fingers crossed) 8m. Conservative valuations but that gives us another 30-40m for players that have given fuck all. Skrtel, Downing & Carroll will be on a good wedge too. Add a few other players that maybe on they're way Spearing, Shelvey , Hendo.

Rodgers said hes of paid double for Allen. I'm not sure I trust him to spend.

We have been wasting money on shite for years nothing new there. Rodgers has spent well in January, you can't get them all right and Allen has proved he has something in him as he was good at the start of the season. He at least deserves another season before people can call him shite.

Conservative? I'd say they're very optimistic. I think we'd be looking at an average of £5m each for Skrtel, Coates, Carroll and Downing. Can't see any clubs queuing up to buy them, but £20m is still a usable chunk of money though. Probably on massive wages relative to their contribution too.

Based purely on the speculation of the last 3-6 months I think we will sign the following players this summer:

CB: De Vrij Feyenoord

CDM: Iturra Malaga

LM, RM, AM: Ince Blackpool

LM, RM, AM: Eriksen Ajax

Plus a centre back and maybe another striker.

Yeah, sell Shelvey and Henderson keep Allen, Borini and add that fat shit Williams and brand that as progress.

Nah, how about we get a new manager instead who can actually nurture young talent like Van Gaal. I know it's an outrageous idea, but that's what I think.

Ranocchia got chucked upfront in the last quarter of an hour against Spurs. Which, if is often the case, will surely mess up those stats?

I know nothing about him, but I noticed he was 1.96 tall and they have him down with these strenghts.

Aerial Duels - Strong

Passing - Strong

Blocking the ball - Strong

Tackling - Strong

Likes to dribble

Likes to tackle

Someone might fill in the gaps, if I should bet on a type of Italian player being a success in the PL it would be a CB.

Or buy Sakho - who isn't on the somewhat meaningless list but has this for a whoscored cv.

Interesting list.

Is it telling that there isn't anybody there from the runaway league leaders of Barcelona, Bayern or Manchester United?

Does that devalue the art of aerial duelling somewhat, in an attacking sense at least? Would explain Rodgers having no interest in keeping Carroll if he's carried out similar analysis.

We definitely need one or two centre halves who don't have a fear of heading the ball, though.
