Pearl Harbour 1 2

Just come across this footage. From a YouTube account: @00:20 The first twenty seconds of footage is pointed towards Battleship Row. The USS Oklahoma is capsized, her belly at the sky. @00:39 The USS California is low in the water after being hit by torpedoes. Her hatches were open for an impending inspection. She was temporarily abandoned. She was later put back into service. Panning right, the oiler USS Neosho had unloaded aviation fuel onto Ford Island. Her gunners claimed one Japanese aircraft while suffering three wounded. The Neosho was later lost during the Battle of the Coral Sea. @00:47 Most of the black smoke…

A lot of stuff is talked about and labelled as conspiracy theories or UFO bullshit but this subject to me blows them all out of the water. I don't pretend to have the brain power to understand its equations or fundamentals but even basic reading on this subject is mind blowing. We are made of 99% nothing. Space, dark matter whatever it is. Atoms, quarks, higgs boson. How is this even possible? A consciousness can evolve from a few positive and negative electrons and neutrons firing around a nucleus made up of quarks. I'm not a believer in a God but why are my electrons more sophisticated than a fly? When you break them both down they are identica…

Watched a ton of films recently. Ones I would normally avoid and it got me thinking about movie stars. Watched Minority Report and Vanilla Sky and Tom Cruise is immense. Have no time for him as he is a prick but he is a movie star. Pure class. Brad Pitt, Tom Hanks, Di Caprio, Arnie are others. Going back John Wayne, Redford Eastwood. Not top actors like DD Lewis, Hopkins, L Olivier but just stars. Some I could put in either class DeNiro is both. Hoffman. Who is the biggest star?

What job would you have had? Either one your characteristics are ideally suited for, or one you’d have been talked into by friends, family, society, culture etc? My parents were always all over me to be a doctor and I can definitely imagine saying fuck it, okay, to get them to shut up. Also easily have seen myself sliding into academia, love the idea of getting paid to research, study and learn about history. Whenever they’ve got historians weighing in on a topic on BBC/Sky, I always think that’s the life.

My mam is at deaths door cancer. It's cool she has had a good life. I have a sister who is a bit of a snide and I can tell she is scheming. Wants my mums house. I'm off to visit and she is making up all sorts of bullshit to keep me away. Wont give me keys to get in that sort of crap. Raking up all sorts of shit to cause a fight. I just ignore her, Wondering what happens when she goes and bitch sister decides to move in. Doubt mother has a will as she has fuck all bar the house and old mans pension. What to do? Not arsed about the house or money but would sooner buy a 1/4 of a million Fredos than let her have it.

Hi all, Having a bit of a nightmare with Peugeot and was wondering if there were any car savvy members of the forum. Long story short, my wife and I bought a second hand car from a local Peugeot dealership and when we returned the car for it's MOT 8 months later they informed me it had failed due to brake pads being incorrectly fitted and they would need replacing. When I informed them that the brakes had not been changed and this is how the car was bought they offered to refit them on the house (not replace!). Feeling very pissed off we've been driving this car for 8 months I've put a compaint in. They have tried to explain it by saying vibrations over time …

Alright, lads. Great summer in prospect. Clare interrupting the Limerick run last week. Cracking Tipp/Cork draw yesterday. And Sligo looking to spring the surprise against the Tribe now in the football. Then later, the Banner trying to upset the Kingdom. Shitloads of good stuff to come in the coming weeks. Cheers.

Mellow greetings GFers, what seems to be your boggle? Recommendations for blanking out the lizard renewal ceremony as far as humanely possible. Films, TV shows, tunes, pods and any decent scran venues plus tasty bevvies. I’ve started the weekend as I mean to go on with Michael Moore’s 2009 documentary film Capatalism: A Love Letter. Available on Netflix but also here on YouTube. I’ll start off some tunes. Paul Heaton and Jaqui Abbott “Welcome to Heatongrad”. And for the more film buff orientated (and one I’ve only just discovered but will be watching) B…

Couldn't find a thread so I've decided to start a new one. Looks like turnout was down, but no idea how much of it was down to voter suppression and how much because people couldn't be arsed. Early doors looks good for Kier, just taken Medway Council for the first time in 20 years, but the Lib Dems and Greens are also gaining. Looks like we could be seeing the end, fingers crossed, of the Tories if this holds until the GE but with options still open on coalitions. The shift is towards the centre/left.

Mumsnet as fuck. I can normally take it or leave it, far more of a sweets fan but about once a fortnight for the past 6 months or so I've been craving the stuff. Section's just mentioned easter eggs on another thread and I'm now clock watching to when I can grab a chocolate bar on the way to the station.

Not ever. Just at the moment. The songs you play on repeat on Spotify etc. Can be old songs you've just heard, new songs or favourites you go back to.

Aah Marina. Someone suggested we have a thread dedicated to her so I thought I'd do the honours. I don't know much about her background but what I have seen so far I really like. The other day she skewered crypt dwelling victorian broom handle Rees-Mogg on his own show. She also has grave breath Ann Widdecombe, that spectacular galactic thundercunt Mike Parry and a shit load of right wing tory bellends who have rang into the Jeremy Vine show on her body-count. Is this love is this love is this love is this love that I'm feeling?
