  • Liverpool 2 Wolves 0 (May 19 2024)

This probably needs to be in two parts really. The match itself and then the post match stuff. I’ll start with the game, although I don’t remember a great deal about it. It was a weird atmosphere really as we were all just very distracted, understandably so. It was loud, really loud, although there were also long lulls where it felt like the crowd were just waiting to get near the closing minutes to go for it again. I was taking more of an interest in all of that than I was the actual game if I’

  • Gravenberch has already become a better player at Liverpool

It may have been a challenging season at times, but the father of Ryan Gravenberch saw plenty of development in his son and believes the best is yet to come.   Despite being only 22 years old, Gravenberch already has played for three of the most iconic names in club football.   Coming through the famed Ajax academy, his talent was such that German powerhouse Bayern Munich signed him on a five year deal.   However, that was a move that certainly did not work for eith

Report: Betis homecoming on the cards for Adrian

One of the forgotten members of the current Liverpool squad in Adrian could be on track for an emotional return to the club where it all started for the Spaniard.   Mundo Deportivo (per Get Football News Spain) report that Real Betis have identified the veteran goalkeeper as a key summer target.   Adrian joined the Betis academy at the age of 11 and after graduating into senior ranks, he started his career with the club’s reserve teams before finally getting his break in the

Decision Time for Caoimhin Kelleher as Clubs Eye Move for Liverpool Goalie

Liverpool goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher cemented his status as an outstanding shot-stopper when his heroics helped the Reds win the League Cup in 2022. Leicester City took Liverpool to penalties in the fifth round and he saved two spot-kicks to help the Merseyside club book their place in the next round.    The 25-year-old also made massive saves on Mason Mount and Christian Pulisic in the final against Chelsea. The Reds ultimately won on penalties, with Kelleher's heroics a pivotal par

  • 2023/24 Season Report Card - Andy Robertson

I don’t have much to say about Robbo except I think he’s under-rated and had a sneaky good season - injury lay off notwithstanding.   He’s been very consistent but doesn’t seem to get much praise these days, perhaps because the style of play changed and we were no longer about him and Trent flying forward trying to get more assists than each other.   Maybe it’s because he missed a chunk of time through injury too, and the team did well in his absence. He can't control that

2023/24 Season Report Card - Virgil Van Dijk

Our player of the season for me and it’s not particularly close. He wasn’t perfect, he had some games that weren’t great and some moments that had me thinking “the old Virgil wouldn’t have done that” but overall this was a brilliant bounce back season from him and he did a great job in his first campaign as skipper.   I had some doubts about his suitability to lead the team but I’m happy to say I was wrong there. He led by example all year and never was that more evident than at Wembl

2023/24 Season Report Card - Ibrahima Konate

Let me start by saying that I think Konate is brilliant and for a brief spell during this season he may have been the most dominant centre back in the league not named Virgil Van Dijk. Arsenal’s pair were getting all of the hype but there’s a reason France select Konate over Saliba; he’s a better player.   Over the course of the entire season though he didn’t show it and I can’t argue with any Arsenal fan claiming that Saliba should be given the nod at the Euros this summer. It’s all

That was the Week that Was (Jun 3-7 2024)

Monday Jun 3:   I’ve seen a few people taking issue with something Bellingham said after the final about proving critics wrong and that people said he couldn’t do it blah blah blah. He seems like a bit of a tit to me and I’d have to question Trent’s taste in mates. First he was tight with Rashford and now Bellingham’s his body and they’re both knobheads. This “everyone doubted me” schtick is especially nauseating. At 16 he was in Birmingham’s first team and every top club in England wa

2023/24 Season Report Card - Joe Gomez

The ultimate team player who produced a great bounce back season after struggling in 2022/23. He’s taken over from James Milner as the man who will sacrifice himself for whatever the team needs.   He wants to play centre back and when Joel Matip went down with a season ending injury he probably thought he’d get plenty of opportunities, especially as Konate can’t play twice a week. He thought wrong. He played a handful of games in the middle in cup games but never got a run there despi
