Nah, some names transcend all that. I don't follow ice hockey but I know who Wayne Gretsky is. I've never watched a second of Formula One but I could probably name a few drivers. Genuinely staggers me that people hadn't heard of him.

I couldn't name an Ice Hockey player nor a Rugby with pads player other than John Elway and the Refridgerator. I'd never heard of LeBron James until probably not long before the FSG stuff as I genuinely have little interest in it all.

PS,there is some Grid Iron player who keeps being mentioned in Family Guy,Tom Brady is it? Due to a New England connection. LeBron is an unusual name so once heard it's difficult to forget.

Michael Jordan, Scotty Pippin, Magic Johnson, Le Bron James, Dan Marino, Tom Brady and OJ Simpson, that's the extent of my knowledge of American sports. Couldn't name one person from the history of Nascar, Baseball, Ice Hockey or LaCross.
