great news, but hopefully it doesn't now grind to a halt... which it probably will do until our league position is decided and how far we go in the europa league as both will influence the cost of the club.

on a side note, even after cancer and aids have gone i think we need to always remember these two for what they have done, and could have potentially done... I think it's about time Guy Fawkes nite was revamped a bit, Tom and George night has a nice ring to it, and burning their images will be both fun and well not productive, but fun.

almost every football club anywhere is "for sale" in the sense that if someone offered enough money then the owners would probably sell up.

We've been for sale since the day those cunts bought us. Nobody will pay what they want.

The club has been up for sale for two years, effectively. But it's interesting why, this time, they've come out and said it's up for sale. They have, presumably, been told it's time to fuck off.

Major problem remains, though, which is how much they want for the club. Nobody's been willing to pay that yet, so hard to see why anyone would be willing to pay it just on the back of an announcement.

Exactly.

Anyone who's interested in buying a football club would have long ago considered us. This really doesn't change a thing.

I guess this post illustrates just how much these two pricks have screwed with us. They have stepped back from any involvement with the club, have released that they are looking to sell 100% of the club, have hired some of the most reputable business people in the world to sell the club and we (well, some) still don't see it as real or get excited.

As I said on the first day this news broke, it is real, it will happen and it is being dealt with by people that know how to get it done quickly.

What are you basing that on ??? I'm still far from convinced they both want to sell, for this reason they want change the asking, and nobody will pay it.

(not being argumentative, but...)

It does in one sense, because the fact they have made it public is significant. If you're doing something on the quiet, you can play silly buggers all you want, fucking about with ridiculous demands, walking away at the last minute and that kind of jazz, but by making it public you're backing yourself into a corner where you have to do something.

Maybe that's just semantics, though. If they still want £500m for us, then nothing has changed. It's not cynicism, just realism - they haven't gone yet, and until they have, there's no point celebrating*.

*And even then, we should all be very wary of what we might be getting. Once bitten, twice shy and all that.

Guest Numero Veinticinco
Complete and utter scumbag with big fucking bells on.

This is terrible news.

You like the owners then, yeah? In what world are you living in if this is 'terrible' news?

you don't though, do you?

You own it. you can do what the fuck you like and demand what the fuck you like. That's how it works when you're selling - you hold the cards.

Ever tried buying a house? I'm getting fucked about royally by some cunt right now. It's not a "secret sale", the house is very much for sale "publicly"

If they sell the club then it will be because someone has offered them exactly what they want for it, not because they've "made it public". This honestly changes nothing at all.

Have to agree Tom.

Do you think though that by announcing it publicly that it is at least a step forward in terms of knowing what position we are in? Instead of all the behind the scenes bullshit that we are drip fed from time to time?

l think what this move does is put the onus on potential buyers. The chance to buy Liverpool, regardless of what is being said is a very lucrative proposition.

l think this could happen sooner than some may think. lf there are a few interested parties, as has been reported, there will be little time to hang around now that the club has been offically put up for sale.

l think this is great news and long overdue.

Er the world where that peice of scum is going to sell us.

Tell me, if David Moores can fuck it up so bad, how bad do you think this peice of shit is going to do, who is he going to sell us to?

If you think he will consider us the fans or the club first in any decision you do not understand how this man works.

If it makes people feel better about things, then that's fair enough I guess.

But that's just perception. When you analyse it, what has really changed?
