Radio One Essential Mix - Here is a Goldmine

What did you make of the 500th Essential Mix Fuge? All that hype for a relatively unknown DJ duo from Belgium in Aeroplane.

Was pissing myself that never went in the end. Fucking massive anti-climax that and I've not bothered listening to the sets. Really surprised that they didn't go bigger but I suppose the Essential Mix is famed most for helping boost careers of lesser known DJ's. So many big name DJ's today made it partly down to the Essential Mix.

Haha same, I was seriously considering coming up for it, probably would have done if the other DJs were stronger (No offence to Yousef)

But the guesses on Tong's show "Is it Afrojack?" "Is it Daft Punk?" "Is it Dadalife?" "No it's Aeroplane" hahaha.

They sounded shite as well when he played a few of their tracks before hand, didn't bother listening to it. Proper let down.

Went to Annie Mac Presents the other night in Portsmouth, she dropped a few House tunes like the Swedish House Mafia 'One' and a few others.

I need to get myself to a proper House DJ club/show night or something, it's fucking amazing. deadmau5 still had a few tickets on the door at his Brixton gigs, will keep my eyes out when SHM come to town. Highly doubt there will be but it's worth a crack.

No Offence like but that is rubbish.

They had on Hawtin, Sasha, Tong....all of who are considerably bigger names than Afrojack, etc.

Hawtin, Tong and Sasha are fucking massive but they hyped up this 500th DJ slot so much, most people there were extremely disappointed.

As I said though, the Essential Mix is most famous for giving up and coming DJ's a platform to show there talents and making new stars so it was sort of fitting.

Yeah i agree its a platform for upcoming talents like. Yousef had no control over the DJ, only the rest of the lineup. Although, i was responding to the comment from Ngog about the line up not being strong.

Dont agree with most people there were disappointed. Most people i know went for Hawtin, and the Theatre was still the busiest and mental i have seen it at half 5. More so than for Villalobos.

Infact, most people i know said its the best Circus they have been to and night out they have had in the City.

I dont know if this will help theghost or anyone else for that matter, but if you are using Firefox as a browser, use the 'download helper addon' and you can download them using that... so I have heard anyway ;)

You knew what I meant, you might like Hawtin and Sasha but I don't really like them. To be fair though I forgot Sasha and Tong were there. Thought it was just Yousef and a few names i've not heard before, apologies if it offended you like.

The way it was hyped up you'd think it was Creamfields or Sensation White for it to turn out to be them 2 was just a piss take.

Yeah I should of mentioned we get heavily traffic managed here by Virgin Media where my 10mb connection gets beaten down to a crawl... the shits!

I suppose I should really save my downloading for when I'm in the office! :)

That is fucking quality. Downloading the plug-on now. That Imogen Heap song is fucking amazing as well and the way the beat rises in the middle was genius. I want to see Calvin Harris at Gatecrasher and SHM at Brixton but i'm too young. I am saving up next year to go to Creamfields and a week in Ibiza.

Edit:

Which download is it? Is it the SkipScreen one?

The one I use is videodownload helper (addon 3006)

Hope that helps you.
