I'm not a fan of Hitchens myself, Jairz, but you can't deny that he's an intelligent man of substance. I don't often agree with what he says, but I at least recognise he could solidly argue his position, unlike most other mongs in the media or in parliament. The biggest shame for me is that he uses his intellect to condescend and impart cynicism. Seems like an utter waste. Like Ron Jeremy being content to wank every night simply because it's so much easier than the alternative.
