Maccabi Haifa **** (4-4-1-1) No significant absentees reported - preparations for European campaign seriously disrupted by the situation in Israel - Maccabi Haifa have been crowned champions of Israel for the past three seasons, but they have not won a Champions League tie since defeating Manchester United 3-0 in October 2002. Ahead of their visit to Anfield, coach Roni Levi concedes that his squad's preparations have been severely hampered by the current situation back home. "We have found ourselves wandering all over the place - We haven't been able to train on our own pitch, and that obviously isn't easy for anyone. If it were only for a day or two it would have been OK, but two weeks is really tough. People are living out of their cars. They are tense, nervous and anxious about what's happening in Haifa." The visitors are set to start with Yaniv Katan who failed to make an impression at West Ham last season and has since returned to Haifa. However, the striker has had his problems settling back into life at the club, failing to impress in Saturday's Toto Cup draw (1-1) against Maccabi Netanya. The domestic League season in Israel has not yet begun.
