Be interesting to see what Klopp does tomorrow.

4-3-3 does not work with Nunez IMO or unless the 3 in middle are our 'best' 3 of Thiago, Henderson and Fabinho.

But 4-3-3 has regularly dicked Arsenal in recent times with Jota especially loving it v them - so does he play it and go with Jota instead of Nunez and then live with all the noise that will inevitably come about Nunez...

4-2-3-1 IMO suits what we have now more IMO especially if want to get Nunez in side and firing and it leaves less us less exposed and leaves less gaps - but they overran Tottenham in midfield last week - risk is they could do same to us with just 2 and those 2 obviously sitting.....

But maybe that sitting will be better for us than a toe to toe basketball game v them and we might be able to get ball out to Salah, Diaz and Jota/Firmino and the full backs pushing on in more space and with them stretched a bit.

The problem we have is even as early as it is in the season, because we have dropped so many points already the gaps to us and the sides challenging for top 4 are already starting to look pretty big....and a defeat tomorrow and one to the cheats next week would leave us in all sorts of trouble.

We are already trailing The Cheats by 13 but more relevantly Arsenal by 11, Tottenham by 10 and Chelsea by 6 - those are significant gaps and defeats tomorrow and next week is likely to mean those gaps will look even worse and start to look too big to close.

We have to get pts from these two games IMO or our season could unravel quickly.

The other side of coin of course is two wins could re-energise us, give us a bomb load of confidence and signal the start of our season proper....

We are so shit but I would genuinely have champions league final win levels of joy if we tore these lot apart tomorrow. It would actually make the next week before the City game somewhat interesting and give us at least a 5% hope going into it. Run back another 9-0 mad Bournemouth esque mad result.

Go into this 4231 because the only route home we have nowadays is to make things bat shit crazy.

...............Ali

Trent Matip VVD Tsimi

......Thiago Fabinho

...Salah...Jota ...Diaz

............Nunez

Liverpool 5 - 1 Arsenal

7' Nunez

13' Salah (Pen)

32' Nunez

51' Odegard

78' Diaz

85' Firmino

92' 'Nunez - Red Card (Two footed knee high tackle, Rock Bottom and the Peoples Elbow on Xhaka)

I'd Callan that lightbulb into his stupid face.

That is one of the worst speeches I have ever heard.

"What comes next when we are connected...?"

"Er, we score goals?"

"No, we play well, boss."

"Er, no, we keep it tight?"

"We stick to the plan, boss?"

"No, no, we, er, we win football matches...?"

"I don't know, boss, the answer that is in your head, boss?"

"Si!  We connect to 60,000 fans!"

"Ok, right.  Nice one."

Callan rep but we could do with a touch of the Toby Meres as well

If it was at Anfield I’d be a bit more certain of the win. Arsenal capitulated against a totally shit Man Utd at Old Trafford.

We can still win though. We’ve a good recent history at the Emerates. If we turn up and play half decent football, we’ll scare the shit out of them.

1-3 to The Reds. Nunez to score!

If we stick to the 4231 then

Alisson

Trent

Matip

Virg

Kostas

Thiago

Henderson

Salah

Firmino

Diaz

Nunez

I'd probably start Jota over Nunez in an ideal world but the more games Nunez gets the better so let Nunez run himself into the ground against their CB's and then bring Jota on in the second half to get his annual Arsenal goal.

That midfield gets us bummed. If Fabinho is available he should partner This to nut I suspect there will be three.

On form it's the better two.

Ideally it'd be Fabinho Thiago but has Fabinho done enough this season?

So far I don't think any of the midfielders have so our best players need to play into form. Henderson against Brighton was a horror show.

Today feels massive to me, pivotal - almost defining.....much, much bigger than a game in early October should feel....

There are so many questions, so much doubt....

What is the formation going to be? Is Nunez going to start? Is Thiago fit or was his absence from training yet another injury, adding to the already desperate situation in midfield this season?...We have so many issues - we are in a bad spot in league even though it is early, double digit points gaps to these and even Tottenham already - the first of back to back league games against the top 2 sides in the league as it stands...

It just feels huge...win and belief and confidence surges, the noise surrounding us dies down, the critics are silenced - setting us up nicely for the challenge of next weekend and a busy month ahead.

Lose and the noise and the questions will get louder and deeper and what does it do to morale and confidence and belief ahead of next week (not to mention being 14 pts - yes fourfuckingteen adrift of Arsenal)

It really is massive...

Its mad how quickly things change. We've gone from potential quadruple winners to being underdogs to fucking Arsenal.

Yeah it's wild. As you say, only a few months ago we were a few goals away from winning the Quadruple. I think it papered over some cracks though - midfield was creaking and Salah was in a slump. Not much has changed, except we've swapped Mane for Nunez.
