He's not getting onto a football pitch any time soon.

 

As with Luis Diaz (and Gakpo?) I suspect the club recognise that they need to bring a midfielder (or two) in the summer, but might be forced by circumstances to bring that plan forward to January.

Fabinho back on form plus Arthur Melo and Bajcetic do have the potential to make a difference. 

 

But even saying that, not signing a midfielder now seems like a huge mistake.

With the number of games, the intensity, the injury/lack of pace propensity of our midfield you could make an argument that by the end of the month it may well be a mistake to not buy 2. Not buying one though would just be another level even for FSG. 

FSG are masters though at making you delighted when they just deliver the minimum requirement. 

Wouldn't put it past them to make it known we won't sign any to them sign 1 last minute which everyone celebrates.

Just get the wallet open and get a box to box midfielder in who can do what Henderson used to do , love Hendo and he will go down as a club legend but last night proved we need legs in the middle. 

I'd love to see a midfield of Thiago Caecido or whoever we bring in Bajetic Fabinho Elliott and Henderson for a 20 minute cameo when needed to see us through to the end of the season .
