For many years, it was often thought that Usain Bolt had a wife called Wendy due to the tattooed letters "W" and "y" being present on his flaccid penis. This was later found to be false as it really says "Welcome to Jamaica; have a nice day" on his erect wang.

Westlife were an IRA sleeper cell deactivated after the Good Friday Agreement. Martin McGuiness wanted to have them offed as he 'didn't like loose ends'. But cooler heads prevailed and, backstage after a Daniel O'Donnell Concert in the late 90s, Gerry Adams told him to 'leave it alone'. To this day. They'll never know how close they came to getting clipped.

Most people don't realise how many phrases in popular use were first coined by William Shakespeare; these include

• "leave it, he's not worth it" (Henry V)

• "better out than in" (Cymbelline)

• "I'd give it ten minutes if I were you" (Julius Caesar)

• "I wouldn't shag that with yours" (The Merry Wives of Windsor )
