I think what he's talking about is mostly true, about what they call the "real Wagner", which are well trained, experienced and highly skilled professionals, using massive amounts of drones and all sorts of equipment. But they are not all that many, and they are probably very expensive, that is why Prigozhin was allowed or tasked with taking on thousands of convicts, which they then use as cannon fodder, as described in the previous thread.

A thread on casualties from both sides, based on estimates from Volya Telegram channel described as Russian but anti-Putin, via Andrew Perpetua's stream. Apparently it is based not on arse-pulling technique, but meticulous analysis of sources. Personally, I would say it sounds way too many for this war to still be going on with this intensity.

Mediazona updated Russian casualty count, it show the highest number of 1555 new deaths in a two-week period since the beginning of the war. Even if they say it is not all for the same period, since obituaries sometimes get published months after the actual deaths, it is consistent with reports on the ground of high casualties around Bakhmut, Vuhledar and elsewhere.

 

The total of deaths confirmed by names is now over 14,000 (14,093), which is a fraction actual casualties (with minimal multiples estimated at x0.4 to x0.6)

Just seen a report on BBC news about a Russian kid who spoke out against the war in Ukraine. Her fellow students very kindly denounced her and she's now under house arrest and on a proscribed list of terrorists along with the likes of Islamic State.
