But that isn't what's happening in sporting competition anyway, so the whole premise is based on a falsehood.

I think the issue people have is when you get individuals who have lived a lifetime as a man, with the frame and muscle mass to match and all the advantages that brings, competing against natural born women.

And they only have a point if they think IOC rules don't mitigate that. They also have to deal with the fact that not a single trans athlete is dominating in the way all these scare stories lead us to believe (or indeed has done in the 40 or so years its been happening).

I mean, I don't see how the IOC can shave six inches off the height of a transwoman basketball player, at least not without creating quite a mess. Also, "it hasn't happened yet" is not a great argument against risk.

 

Let us see what the situation is ten years down the road. The picture will be clearer then.
