taking us a while to get going but when we do teams can't cope. even gave them a goal lead. would've been interesting to see how we'd responded to going 2 down when crouch didn't react to the ball flashing across goal. Allen was running the show early on but we slowly took control. goals shared out again and good to see firmino and sturridge on the score sheet again.

Although we dominated possession in the first half an hour, we didn't create an awful lot. Stoke went alehouse with two up front and the midfield looking for second balls, and the sluggishness of our defensive play allowed them to make inroads. Lovren completely switching off followed by a feable hand by Mignolet gave Walters a goal that was so easily preventable. For the next 10 minutes or so, we didn't cover ourselves in glory and could easily have gone 2 behind. Mignolet made up for his mistake with a save.

The equaliser, while not against the run of play, was certainly out of the blue as it wasn't as though we were knocking on the door as such. Lallana took advantage of a fortunate richochet off Johnson to steer the ball in from a tight angle. After that, we were all over them. Firmino blazed a presentable chance over and then got on the scoresheet with a low cross-shot that went in off both posts. Mane almost made it 3-1 before half time, only narrowly steering his shot wide.

We went in 2-1 up and that was about right on balance of play. After the half time apple juice with caffeine pick-me-up, we totally bossed the second half. We got 2 more goals through defensive errors by Stoke, and it could have been much worse for them. Imbula didn't clear his lines and then got a toe-end to the cross to divert the ball into his own net. Then Shawcross passed the ball back to his keeper without looking, only for Sturridge to nick the ball and round the keeper.

Origi must have been a little bit gutted about that. He'd played well all day, holding the ball up and spreading the play wide, but he never got a goalscoring opportunity of his own. Sturridge comes on and within a minute or so, he gets a goal. Them's the breaks.

Other sides are finding it difficult to live with our attacking play, and in the last 4 games we've been by far the stronger team in the second half. I can't remember West Ham, Boro, Everton or Stoke getting a sniff in the second half of our games.

If we can keep that sort of thing going as well as eradicate defensive lapses, we can really take teams to the fucking cleaners.
