Taking  old newspapers to the chippies and getting a free serve of chips and some batter bits ( all the dribbly bits of batter scooped out of the fryer). Chippies were rated as much fore their generosity in return for wrapping papers as they were for their cuisine.

 

Unsalted crisps (the only available flavour) with the twist of salt in blue paper. Before they invented sticky salt.
