Daniel Sturridge-2015

I think it's slightly unrealistic to expect him to just come back and play at the level he was at before he got injured. That is actually my worry, that he will over exert himself because he's so eager to make up for lost time, and we all want him to get back to his best quickly so we can get 4th. Recipe for another injury that is. No. The mighty hand of FSG has to go into the pocket of hope and draw out some cold hard filthy lucre for a new striker.

If Sturridge was a car and he was mostly in the garage getting fixed, you would be a bit of a loon to assume that now he is finally repaired you could all of a sudden go full pelt and do the Dakar rally and he wouldn't break down. It's just not realistic. He needs to be eased back in, like when you are giving it to the missus for ages on a friday and she's gone a bit dry. Comprende amigos?

We need a new striker to do the groundwork so Daniel can shine in the FA cup final and Europa League final and to help us snatch 4th like a fat kid going for the last piece of cake.

Daniel is exquisite and delicate and I won't have him being rushed. He's a sensitive lad underneath all that cool macho exterior. He's hurting bad right now goddamit.

Wishful thinking, but we all know they aren't doing any shopping in January. So, I guess it's status quo, with Sterling up top, until the final few minutes. Then we send in DS instead of RL, MB, or FB.

Sounds like top 8, rather than top 4.

However, in a perfect world, if DS were fully fit, I'd like to see Coutinho and Lallana (when fit) behind DS, with Sterling and Lazar out wide, and Lucas, Can, or Hendo in deeper mid., with Gerrard coming on as a sub, when trailing.

Coutinho and Lallana can create chances, but need someone up front. Their shots from distance are useless. I thought Couts was "outstanding" against Sunderland, but he can't do it alone. Borini was MIA, and MB was moving in slow motion. Maybe Balotelli can play CB?
