  1. Rumor of Borini up front, with Sterling taking Lallana's spot, next to Coutinho. Gerrard still injured.
  2. By the way, did we think we were buying Jose Fonte, and they accidentally sent us Lovren? Fonte was a real difference maker yesterday in their win, while Lovren looked as bad as ever on Sat. Can we claim temporary insanity on that one, and get a do over?
  3. Wishful thinking, but we all know they aren't doing any shopping in January. So, I guess it's status quo, with Sterling up top, until the final few minutes. Then we send in DS instead of RL, MB, or FB. Sounds like top 8, rather than top 4. However, in a perfect world, if DS were fully fit, I'd like to see Coutinho and Lallana (when fit) behind DS, with Sterling and Lazar out wide, and Lucas, Can, or Hendo in deeper mid., with Gerrard coming on as a sub, when trailing. Coutinho and Lallana can create chances, but need someone up front. Their shots from distance are useless. I thought Couts was "outstanding" against Sunderland, but he can't do it alone. Borini was MIA, and MB was moving in slow motion. Maybe Balotelli can play CB?
  4. Do we stick with the 3421 if Sturridge ever makes it through a training session? If so, do you put Sterling on the wing, or attacking midfield?
  5. Admittedly, I'm just a dumb Yank, and relatively new to this football thing, but would someone mind telling me what the heck we are waiting for? Are we really going into the heart of January without a new goalkeeper? If we are going with Ming (or even Brad, if healthy) for the League cup ties v Chelsea, we might as well just give up now, and send in the under-18s for the experience. What is the delay? Are they waiting until we are so far down in the table by the end of January so they can say that there is no point in making changes, and they decided to wait for summer to make any moves?
  6. -----------------------Mignolet--------------------- Manquillo-----Toure----Skrtel---Moreno -------------------------Lucas------------------- Henderson------------------------------Lallana -----------------------Gerrard--------------------- Lambert------------------------------Sterling Get the ball into the box as much as possible, but don't shoot. Keep possession, and hope for a penalty. It's the only way they can expect to score these days. But seriously, Lallana, Henderson, and Sterling have had some success in creating goals, when they can sustain possession in the box.Lucas at the back will hopefully help the defense, and Lambert can serve as target for the long balls forward.
  7. Whether sturridge needs to see a specialist is something the medical staff is looking into... Did BR really say that? Are you kidding me? He should have seen multiple specialists when this first occurred in August. Who has been looking at him up to now? Dr. Seuss?
  8. Admittedly, I'm no expert on football. As a American, I have spent most of my life watching ice hockey and American Football. That being said, I have now seen the light. I now support LFC with all my heart, and am fortunate in that I have been able to see every minute of every match this season, in all competitions. Yet, I still have much to learn about the sport. Regarding Chelsea's second goal on Saturday, I don't understand what Moreno was doing. From an "Ice Hockey" point of view, I expected the goalkeeper to focus on the poor angle shot, while the defender would mark the trailing forward. I don't mean to put the blame on young Moreno for a second week straight week, but shouldn't he have been marking Costa, instead of facing the goal? I don't see a scenario where he could have done anything to help in that position. Why would we ever let a player like Costa get so open in front of the goal, without a red shirt in sight???? Thanks in advance for your help.
  9. Maybe we just need to try out those new Black/Grey shirts, and the goals with start pouring in!
  10. Moreno, Manquillo, Markovic, Can, and let's not forget Origi... average age probably 19-20. Clearly there is talent there, and at a smaller club you might be able to let these kids play as a team for a few years until they develop into something special. However, Liverpool is expected to be a top four team every year. That means using the Suarez money on 1-2 proven global superstars, not 5 kids with potential, 3 good (but certainly not great) veterans, and one absolute headache. Lesson learned (See Spurs), but what to do about it now? Nothing to do but wait it out. We can't go out an buy a whole new team in January. I would say target one proven striker in January, and see if we can get some momentum going offensively. I'd rather lose 4-3 than 1-0. With Sturridge perpetually injured, it's hard to argue with making that the absolute priority. The only silver lining in our recent performance is that the International team managers will stop calling.
