I like both but prefer Foo Fighters. Nirvana were good but only had three albums, and the first one was poo. Foo fighters have two or three good songs on their albums and fill the rest with shite (as someone else mentioned).

The Colour and the Shape is a terrific album start to finish, but Nirvana were a better band. The quality of FF's output has declined over the last 10 years or so. Their last really top album was 'One by One' - the first few tunes on that are ace.

Bleach has my two of my favourite Nirvana tracks in Scoff and Negative Creep. 

As for FF. I've never listened to one of their albums. I've heard a few decent songs, but also heard some absolute shit.

Only thing they have in common is Grohl, totally different music. Foos are far more melodic, upbeat and energetic than Nirvana or indeed Grunge full stop. A more apt comparison would be FF and Green Day / Wildhearts etc. Nirvana were full on grunge, especially Bleach and Incesticide, and frickin awesome as long as you could tune your ear into it. Some couldn't / can't.

Really? So difficult to keep track of the magnificent genre that was 1990's boy bands, only Motown can compare for musical significance. At first I put Westlife vs Ronan before vaguely remembering that that was not right
